what says the crowd? neighbor isnt a dick, but he is very inconsiderate. i once found one of them parked on my lawn. garbage laden front yard.. hangs rugs on our shared fence to dry..etc.

but this illegal addition to the home is an abomination. huge and ugly. would you release the kraken on them? i would feel bad..

i would call him in, what if he wires his project wrong and it starts a fire? your house could go up with it (if its close).

not safe for you and your family.

x3. if his yard is full of trash, i can only assume he will cut corners and hack the remodel together. when it blows up its gonna be in your yard also, next to his car

getting the inspector and permits is NOT that big of a hassle

i would definetly call him out on parking on your lawn. the shared fence thing is well "shared", i would accidently knock them over while i was "MOWING" my side of the yard. its your call but safety issues can be ligimate reason for a anoumous call to the proper authorities.......

I don't know. I want to build a shed. My neighbor is a neighborhood watch queen. She turned in a neighbor for some little "infractions". So I would buy the permit, just to avoid her, my only problem is to build a "shed", and not purchase one I need three certicied copys of a blueprint to turn into city managemant. All I want is a 8x10 shed. I could build one that could withstand a sunami but the city, and my neighbor wants to see a permit. WHY!!!

What AK27 said. If he isn't nice, and does the stuff you said I would. It could be any neighbor that tells. So it shouldn't come to you.

    x2 on this

our DB neighbor turned us in because we built a treehouse without a permit. The village came and shut us down because of a stupid little tree house.

In your case OP, you might want to try talking to him first? No one likes a snitch but you have to do what you have to do.
