What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Installed the trd skid plate today.

 

Just installed the Sokie Tech hood struts. Way too easy of an install. Had Redlines on my previous Tacoma and the Sokie Techs were nearly as plug and play as you get.

Thought my afternoon was going to be spent fabricating a new bracket for my Auxbeam box but to my surprise, the struts fit perfectly!

Thank you @ClassyTacos for putting up an easy how to video and swaying me toward these hood struts. Saved a few bucks on the Sokie Techs vs Redlines for future mods to come!

 

I have an amber grille light set for the pro grille. Three of the four lights work. I broke the electrical conduction pin off of one of them. I also have the electrical harness that it attaches to the fuse box. It’s a black cable with the yellow waterproof connections. I had to replace it with the one from R4T so it would work with their DRL kit. Let me know if you’re interested, have questions or if that would help you in any way.

 

The pucks are nice. This is what I went with. Loving them. Super simple motion activating and with a photo cell to keep off with day light.

Joined the diamondback club today...Bought from someone who recently put an alu cap on theirs (see picture). Came with the tool box too. Digging it

 

Stopped raining long enough to give her a wash.


And I'm getting closer to interior black out. Vent rings and steering wheel logo done.

 

Got em in the mail today and the pics don’t do them justice. My wife looked at the pics and asked if they were silver lol but when she saw them in person she said it looked good and matched the rest of my cement interior. Love the knobs. Daytime pics but I did turn the interior lights on so you could see the illumination through these beauties lol

Removed all of the glares from my backup camera

Added a new panel, done by Guild Outfitters. Their panel was expensive, but it was in stock (and it came with a free, SnapBack hat). tbh, I’m not very satisfied with the quality. One of the retention tabs snapped from just unboxing, but it still works. The empty slot is my “anytime front/rear camera” I have yet to install.

How is your hood led wired...usb direct to pos/neg (maybe with and inline fuse) or did you use something like this

You find them winters good mine are aweful.

 

Weighed truck. Looks like I've added about 800lbs. Averaging 18mpg doesn't look so bad now.

 

i used the 2 piece RGB LED lights from NiLight. In-line fuses, it’s wired to the non switch terminal of my Auxbeam box. This is essentially the same as wiring straight to the battery. It’s controlled by a push button that I mounted on the fender just behind the headlight.

I’ve been pretty pleased with these NiLight LED strips. Inexpensive on Amazon. I have mounted them in the bed under the rails (3 pcs white lights), under the hood (2pc RGB), and also behind the rear seats/ storage area (2pc RGB).

 

Where did you get the mounting plate for your Auxbeam?

 

Markers are spaced in meters, but snow falls in feet. ??? ;-)

it is supplied in the kit. I just modified it to fit into our trucks. Screws into the existing 2 holes near the engine fuse box on the inner fender.

 

I'd be interested to see the video. There have been several studies that show no difference and typically you get more brightness for your buck from white.

 

Installed rock lights with the DSIM harness and controller. Super easy plug and play !

I've got the option for everything-auto, but I still just set the headlights to on and let the Auto-Off circuit handle the rest. I never use high-beams for anything other than signaling to other drivers that their high-beams are on
