Located in central PA wheres prettt cold right now and attempted to install my soft topper yesterday in my garage with the door open for more room to move around. Anyways when it came time to snap in the topper it just wasn’t giving for me even after leaving the topper in my house till I was ready. After a couple hours of pulling/ adjusting and damn sore fingers I became defeated and put off the task for the day. Looking for any advice to get this fucking thing snapped in today. I’m thinking about placing a small space heater inside the topper to get it really warm to see if the canvas allows more give…other than that I’m not sure what else to try….any advice or tips????

Try this is you haven't already.

Use the tension straps and pull the metal frame down as tight as you dare. Snap canvas to frame. Relieve tension on straps and allow the canvas to take up the slack.

I did try this but not as tight as you say but definitely to the point where the bed rails were pulling and flexing up and not sitting flush…also to the point I was worried something might break or snap

Fire up some space heaters and close that door would be my advice. I did mine in about 45 degrees outside here in GA and I could barely get them snapped.

What about wetting it a little so it stretches?

Definitely pull the F/R tensioners as much as you can and then snap the 4 outer corners in and then work your way towards the center. I had this issue installing my first softopper in the cold due to the new canvas fabric.

You need heat, put a blow dryer or heater buddy next to it, the cold is making it impossible to stretch

    Just some stuff...
You could just drop the pins that the topper pivots on down one hole. It worked for me and still plenty taut.

I think this might be the winner for a cold weather install
