    True. I avoid 84 unless absolutely necessary. Last few times I needed to head that way, I left at 4 am to get through before the amateurs get on the road.

    Especially with the construction by Waterbury I make it a point to avoid 84 when I can. Coming back up after Christmas we tool the taconic up to 90 for a tw express and honestly, I might make that the route i take from now on

    They ostensibly "fixed" up that whole mixmaster stretch maybe 10-15 years ago. Horrendous delays at that time. Turned out the contractors fooked the entire job up so back to square one. Neither accountability nor serious repercussions for anyone involved. Taxpayers left holding the bag as always. Corrupticut at its finest.

    Lots of freezing rain and sleet here today. The plow went by about an hour ago, but until then the road didn't look like it would have been too fun to drive on.

    I did test out the lawn tractor with the weights and chains on the snow and ice. I can climb up anything with ease right now so even when the weight balances out to the front more I think I will be just fine. Steering wasn't great, but a snowblower hanging off the front should solve that.
