Missing my Taco right now looking through this thread…

Can’t wait for my $GME and $AMC to collapse the global economy, so I can buy another one.

Did you break the needle bearing race while pulling it out? How many miles? What did the shaft look like?

Sorry for the rash of questions. Just leveled my truck and got that annoying intermittent vibration. Curious how much wear, if any, you saw.

that damage was from me pulling it out. One of the needles was not in the “shell” when I pulled out. Was able to get all the pieces out with magnet. Never had a vibration just had the kit laying around for acouple years and finally installed. 32k miles

Generally fits the parameters of this thread - but I passed the HAM Radio test for my technicians's license, allowing me to mount up my Yaesu 400XDR.

So what have I done to my 3rd Gen Today? I became a book nerd to memorize a bunch of stuff to pass a test which I hope to one day understand, all so my truck can look cool with more antennas mounted.

Don't stop there, get at least your General license as well so you can talk all over the world. People do not realize that when SHTF battery-powered radios will be your only form of long-distance communication. HAMS are generally very honest people and practice to relay what they have heard exactly so that will be your news source when things go dark. The going dark part has been happening around the world much more frequently here lately, just saying.

I got addicted to the studying part taking practice exams on my phone. I went from Tech to Extra in 6 months due to CERT involvement; Community Emergency Response Team. Basically back up Firefighters. Congrats man! N5WOI.

Congrats, now encourage your off-roading buddies to do the same. I get so tired of reading CB and GMRS threads here. What a waste of money on very limited radios. It takes 20 minutes a day for a few weeks and a $5 license prep app to pass the tech test.

No pics, but just spent maybe 45 minutes to an hour de-icing and getting into my Inferno Taco. You'd think that hot-colored paint would prevent 3/8" of ice forming on it overnight...
