Bought this truck off a member on here recently. Already mostly built, but starting this thread for the rest. Plan is eventual SAS and fj case swap. Spring should see 37's on it.

Threw on a Dobinsons snorkel today. Not bad, but was nervous cutting holes in the body.

 

Well, just maintenance today. Those 35's take a toll on the front end. New tie rods, wheel bearings, cv axles etc.

 

This truck looks like a blast to drive. I'm really digging the rear bumper too!

 

37's on a regular cab?

 

Took her out on the maidens voyage. Two days of wet wheeling at Interlake, Indiana. Made it up butthurt hill(left, rocky line). Video is demo only to show the hill as I didn't have anyone to film me in the rain.

Observations:
I need to do a SAS
I need 37's
More up travel is needed in the rear
Rock sliders are your friend

I need to fix my core support

Those are nice, but I don't think will solve my issue. I've got tons of fender clearance so no fender rub. However, the springs on the front are ridiculously stiff. I'm going to a softer spring, and I think I'll build an inner core support frame work. I think that combo will prevent further tearing

 

No real updates other than a installed a new OEM steering rack and poly bushings. Just enjoying for now until I get the new 3rd gen here soon, then it will be time for 37's. Until then, here's a Pic near the Wabash River...bonus points if you know where at exactly.

 

First real "mod" on this one for me. Swapping to 37x12.50 BFG's. Second Pic is of the 35's I had on before.

 

I will massage the cab mount a touch, but otherwise fine.

 

Love it! We need more single cab builds!

 

Part upgrade, part repair...throwing these in later today.

 

Got the speakers installed. Sounds MUCH better. I replaced due to a blown 6.5 on the passenger side...guess the drivers tweeter wasn't doing much either.
