I had 8/32nds still on them when I pulled them off because they were almost 6 years old and starting to crack. Crazy limited treadwear. 265/70/16's

Their high mileage tires never wear out, but they're expensive. Michelin only makes a few truck AT suv tires that anyone would look at.

I've ran several sets of Michelin LTX MS tires on other vehicles in the past. They're a very soft tire, super smooth and quiet, but they always dry rot way before their listed mileage. I believe BFG/Michelin are the same conglomerate, but I've never run BFG's so I can't comment on them.

I'm planning on Toyo AT3's or Yokohama Geolander MT's for my next set.

I live in Central Florida (so... heat lol) and travel north into the mountains of Georgia/Tennessee/etc for camping every year. I bought my truck with the intention of taking it further and into better places. My daily work truck pulls various sized boats (from Jon boats to Yellowfins to pontoon boat) into various dirt/mud/off-road terrain and we run KO2s, hense why I like them since I've seen their capabilities.

What's your thought for putting these Michelin on my personal truck (central FL, not a daily driver, going into the mountains, etc)? My first thought is the look isn't as aggressive as I'd like, but I'd be willing to sacrifice some look for a more useful tire.

They're not not the most capable off road (LTX MS2), but the trip there will be butter. I haven't ran the LTX AT2 mentioned above, which supposedly offers slightly better offroad performance. Personally I'd prefer Toyo AT3's for an all terrain.

If you want to upgrade your Calipers and Rotors to the Lexus Big Brake Upgrade in the future , you will need 17's. I did this upgrade on my 2nd Gen and it made a world of difference in stopping power. I had a line on a nice set of 2nd Gen Pros with the fake beadlocks, but passed since I will be doing the upgrade on this truck when I need new brakes

35s are fine for long-distance trips. Highway mileage is least affected by larger tires because it's effectively taller gearing.

I went with 17" wheels because the skinny 35s are only available for 17" and larger wheel sizes. 17" also accommodates 4Runner/GX brakes and spindle gussets better.

If I switched from 16 to 17 inch wheels, and kept the same tire size of 31.6 (or whatever), does that mean I would lose 1 inch of sidewall height or is that not how that works?

You would lose ½" on sidewall....the sidewall that matters is from the centre point out... the total side wall yes... 1inch less.

You are spot on that they are not an aggressive looking AT and there are definitely more capable tires for off road use. These work for me because it's a daily driver and 95% on road. I used to run Bridgestones on my Tahoe and never got over 60k miles on a set. I'm sure you can't go wrong with the Toyos as they are very popular on this site.

    Best of luck!

Definitely 16” and not Michelin. You are not driving your Hyundai Elantra. You want a mean tire with lots of side wall and aggressive look. 16” rims are stronger, lighter, faster, and better. Put on some Ko’s or Dick Cepek and that is the way a truck should look.

Or go and get 17” with Michelin in a nice whitewall. Look good at the mall. :rofl:o_O

17’s offer more options, the rest is preference. I’m running 16’s and want 34’s, not going to happen.

I added vinyls to mine. I've had them like this for over two years and no problems. If you take your time, you cant even tell it's a vinyl.

I'm looking at grabbing a pair of Method 701s (17x8.5 0 offset) with 265/65/17 K02s. With my stock OR suspension at the moment, does any know if I'll have rubbing issues? The change in size, width, and offset from my stock wheels has completely thrown me off.

There will be a slight chance of rubbing. The wheel dimensions are similar to the TRD Pro 4Runner wheels that people run and the size tire is commonly suggested to be the perfect upside without rubbing. At the most you may have to lightly massage the mud flaps.

Very nice! Where did you get yours and did you remove the tires to add them? Does removing a tire damage them? Thanks

Can you explain adding vinyls? Where do you get those, how do you install, etc. I imagine it's like a wrap but I've never done that with wheels. I like the look though. I'm always up for a project
