I would check your local Facebook market place or Craigslist. If nothing comes from that, eBay would be my next bet.

I’ve checked Facebook market , Craigslist, and eBay for the oem air intake and exhaust.
Both have plenty of Tacoma parts for sale , but I’m not see what I think I need .
Could someone ( more mechanically savvy than I ) please post a link to the items I’d need to replace both an AFE cold air intake and AFE exhaust with OEM parts ?
    This is a 2012 2.7 access cab Tacoma .

    Thank you in advance

I think the shudder at low RPMs is the engine bogging/lugging.

When do you experience this? When taking off from a stop? In 2nd going accelerating from a slow in traffic or after a sharp corner?

I hear you on the bushwacker rig. I use mine out in the boonies of NE Oregon when I go out elk hunting. Needs to be quiet & capable. Here's a couple of ideas from my experience to get your truck where you want it to be

    - Stock intake - you should be able to find a takeoff from some kid on CL. Check the intake assembly for cracks, f'd gaskets, etc.

    - Stock exhaust - you should be able to find a takeoff set on CL as well.

    - Stock rims - find some 3rd Gen OR rims on CL. Also check dealerships in your area as sometimes they'll sell (x5) tire & rim takeoff sets from rigs they customize prior to selling

    - Put some 265-75 R16 tires on the wheels for a quick 1" lift. Duratracs come in load range C and are a good bit lighter than the E rated KO2's or other AT's out there.

    - Bilstein 5100's - install a set of those on the 2nd or 3rd perch to get yourself another 1-1/2" or so. They're pretty cheap and so close to the cost of replacing the OEM shocks that it'd be crazy not to swap them out.

    - Give that rig a quick tune up. I wouldn't be surprised if the kid who owned it before you didn't take care of it. So swap the fluids, sparks, filters. There's a maintenance item list on the forum here

    Here's a couple of other ideas -

    - Personally, I'd pick up a steel skid plate for the motor, but you do have a 4 banger, so it might be worth going with an aluminum skid if you're not going to be intentionally wheelin it on rocks. Steel can get a little heavy but the extra protection might be worth it.

    - Pick up a set of traction boards (aka - the poor mans winch). You can also just use a couple of scrap sections of galv'd gripstrut, too

    - Think about a comms system. I use a ham radio which gets me out to the repeaters & I also carry a Garmin 66i w/ InReach satellite comms for emergencies. Keeps the wife happy. The InReach system will allow you to message people exactly where you are and/or tell your buddies exactly where your kill is.

Update:Thanks to all who shared their knowledge and recommendations here .
So far I’ve replaced the AFE cold air intake and Magforce cat back exhaust, both with original Toyota salvaged from owners doing the opposite. MPG went from 12.6 to 16.3, the low rpm shudder is gone, and the truck is stealthy quiet . I also replaced the manual transmission fluid with redline Mt-90, and shifting is markedly improved. I love it when a plan comes together.
    Thank you Tacomaworld

Great to hear you got it sorted. So you are still on the 18" wheels? What tire size are running?

That's quite a bump in mpg's, would like to hear theories on what caused that increase.

Still running same tire/rim, but have them posted for sale. Size 265/65/18. I have 17” rims waiting for 245/75/17’s as soon as these sell or the tires are ready for replacement.

MPG - I removed excess weight by removing a toolbox and bed organizer. The cold air intake and magforce exhaust may have (breathed easier), but not correctly according to design.
The truck idles smoother, starts and stops smoother, and doesn’t lug/shudder at low rpm as it did.
I think all systems, back pressure, vacuum, etc, are now working in harmony with the motherboard as they were designed. Im thinking the tires/rims should be another major improvement.
Thanks to all for your help so far, I’ll keep you posted.
