It came down to the desire to try to make equal lengths more than straight shots. Which would totally changed the design, location, etcetera.

That being said, exploring the idea of an underslung turbo is still on. It would just require a completely different style header design. Which I pondered heavily last night. So much so that I dreamt about it even. Lol.

We're making "wants" happen. Coincidentally, the design ended up being quite close to the last header I made, without trying to do so.

Yes,
I have always like the thought of mounting a Turbo under the front of the bed. (Lots of room & remove some heat out of the engine bay) But then there’s routing issues like for example the oil return.
Any Turbo’s have their own oiling system or a return pump?

This was the Squires Turbo System. STS Rear mount turbo kit. I originally had one on my truck. Not worthy. Under engineered.

Hoping to have this manifold fully welded by the end of the week. Very exciting to get this one finished for @BassAckwards, and to see how it performs compared to the Rotrex. Although I already have an idea.

 

Im getting quite excited myself. I may try to swap the oil pans before i come back down if possible. That would save us some time, and maybe we could use more of that time getting the tune a little better on the new setup. Also ordered the TS waste gate this morning, so hopefully that should be here in time for the party

 

Time saved there means more time finalizing things here. Not a bad idea. Like we were discussing, I really thing by removing the front driveshaft from the flange, and then supports fie the front diff, you should be able to lower the front diff, enough to get that upper pan out with ease. Then put a a cap over the AN fitting, and it'll be plenty safe to drive back over.

 

Lucky for me mines still 2wd.. so im hoping it's a pretty straight forward swap.. But yes sir, that's the plan cap that baby and drive it down

I will have to get some pics later today. I started to swap the springs last night, but then read through the instructions some and was worried i'd mess something up if i tried so it got boxed back up lol.

Lol yeah that's what killed my motivation yesterday. Saw a vice was req'd and really didnt want to go outside in the cold

Prepping for turbo plumbing today. Removed the old coolant drain and replaced it with a stainless 1/4” bsp tapered hex plug to gain clearance for the new turbo oil feed fitting. Coolant flush was a necessity as well as some minor disassembly to gain access to the old drain. About to put it all back together now after a little intake tube mockup

 

Robert or one of you fine gentlemen and or ladies reading this.
Our 15 when I upsized the rubber the speed-O slowed even after the gear change. (per GPS)
Our 07 when I purchased and drove it back to AZ the speed-O was about 4.5 mph FAST (per GPS)
Now on the 07 I upsized the rubber to the same size as the 15, but this time the speed-O didn’t change (per GPS)!
My question is why? And how does one slow or adjust the speed-O. I don’t mind having a slow speed-O but it reading fast is not what I prefer as I’m use to speed-O reading slow!
Again can anyone fill me in on why or how to change it?
