What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Did this Paracord wrap on my steering wheel. Can't tell if I like it yet or if this is too "tacticool"

 

Swapped out my "Low/High" wiper switch for one with the Intermittent feature.

 

Deleted the Load Sensing Pressure Valve today....that was messy. Didn't have to extend the rear line , just pulled it back a bit. Didn't install a proportioning valve either. Bleeding everything was fun.....lots of air bubbles. Seems to be happier now.

 

Today I snagged a deal on a Coastal rear bumper kit. Basically 30%cheaper. Ripped off the trail gear, and then dropped it off to a buddy to weld up for me while I head back to the Middle East.

anybody with the Coastal rear figure out a way to mount the mudflaps??

 

yeah i bet the crush sleeve just got too loose and you ate a bearing maybe. Why it's always worth doing solid spacers IMO when regearing/rebuilding diffs.

Pull the pinion and lets see it! Should just come out one you take the nut off.

 

I tried, but it didn't want to come off. I guess I could whack it with a hammer.

 

Were there any bits and pieces in the oil?

 

I've got Tundra calipers and the brake line kit on hand, now im just waiting for McGeorge Toyota to ship the rotors and pads I ordered last week

It's in certain Toyota tool kits.

 

I've got a full set of them, comes in all Land Cruiser tool bags along with toyota pliers, toyota JIS screwdriver, and a toyota sparkplug tool

 

Oh fancy. Would love something like that for the garage.

 

Lots of them on Ebay. I occasionally find the wrenches and screw drivers in the backs of Toyota's at the junk yard.

 

Next time i go parts pickin. Ill keep an eye out for the wrench / screwdriver set, very cool for shop conversation piece.

 

Got the suspension in today

now I need to find a shop to install the front for me.

 

Ran to the farm to let the tacos run. 02 idles fine. 95 idles fine.


The 95s power steering fluid hates the cold though

 

Picked up two sets of keys and fobs from McGeorge, and had the keys cut by VIN at my local dealer.



Also picked up some drink coasters to stop my steel water bottles from rattling so much.
