    I agree Jim. In our quest to pick meet & greet places when we were looking for a sister for Phoenix, I asked the shelters I was dealing with about some local parks nearby our prospects, but they all said similar things. First about disease but also about keeping it secluded so the dogs could only concentrate on just each other.

    We used a leash, and stopped at a rest stop at one point because it seemed she was really freaking out. Never pee'd or pooped, just needed a break from the drive I guess. Our drive was only a couple hours though. 17 is crazy long. I would fly, not drive. If I had to drive, I would rent a minibago or something similar.

    I try keep everything they could need in the truck now. Even copies of medical records. Well, I lie, I am not storing food in the truck. But everything else. We always have a treat/food go bag ready.

    I might as well ask in here, since there's so many 2.5 gen owners.. Did you trucks ever come with 17" steelies? I recently saw a 17" steelie that was meant to be the spare tire, it has a 'temporary usage only' warning label on it.

    Mine has 16s. No idea what the spare is. I was a dummy and only replaced my 4 main tires. I need to get my spare mounted to a new tire as well.
