    That's awesome! Very nice job.

I use the same RockyMounts HotRod's on the front rail currently.

Would love to be able to do something like this.

Also really like that Nomad!

I did build it myself. I've used it with several bikes now. The longer bikes have to sit at an angle, but I've always been able to fit two bikes.

I have no love of tailgate pads. I've tried several models. They scratch the paint. They scratch the bikes. Maybe it's the dirt here, or I'm picky. But I'm not into them.

I used to mount the forks at the front of the truck, but I grew weary of climbing into the bed to put the bike in. So I made my own.

I used a set of "Mini Stiffys" that I found on here. A piece of aluminum square tube, a handful of Riv-Nuts and a set of Rocky Mounts (that I already had). Then I worked with my buddy (also on here) to make wheel holders.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mtb-wheel-hauler-contest-name-this-thing.711725/

The price was pretty inconsequential. I got fed up with dealing with tailgate pads, and the scratches that come with them (on the bike and the tailgate), and I got tired of climbing into the bed of the truck to mount the bikes

    But, from memory:
    Mini Stiffy: $50
Aluminum Bar & Angle: >$20 (not sure as I used scrap's that were kicking around)
    Riv-Nuts: >$10
    Stainless Hardware: $20
@TMCmakes Wheel Carrier: I helped develop, I don't know if he's set a price yet.

Yep. Those are the same mounts I'm using. All you really need is the bar along the back.

Is there a vinyl wrap that matches Lunar rock?

So relieved to be able to wash away the salt (especially underneath) but this will only last until next week tops

Luckily [?] it's been so effin cold here that my truck doesn't even get dirty. The snow is powder and the roads are solid ice. Too cold for salting as well.

The only benefit of it being this cold.

CT uses so much damn salt it's scary. It's just below freezing today but the next few days are gonna be in the single digits so there's no better time than the present haha. After staring at mine covered in salt for the past week I had to rinse it. We got about 8" of snow a few days ago but yesterday was 40 degrees and rain. Gotta love the inconsistent weather.

My last truck was a Ranger that spent most of its life on the ocean in Nova Scotia where we had the same around-freezing-snow-and-rain-salt-the-shit-out-of-everything conditions. It only has 120,000km on it but the frame, and everything else, has turned to dust. It lives on the acreage hauling whatever because it is too rusted to be repaired and will never pass an inspection.

It may be damn cold here but at least the salt, both on the ground and in the air, is minimal.

Forgive me for linking to TMZ trash but I randomly stumbled on this. Looks like Conan has an LR Pro. You can skip to the last few seconds.

I heard him talking about his truck on his podcast and I wondered what kind of truck Conan would drive. Ha. Looks like he knows what's up.

Man.. If someone handed me both keys and told me to pick one, I'd have a hard time making that decision. I am close to deciding and leaning more towards a DCSB OR Taco just a bit over the Runner. Maybe because I have a 3rd gen 4Runner, I don't know.. That LR looks great. And black looks fantastic in snowy, rainy, or any general foul weather. It just sticks out. Black is always tempting. Although everyone who owns one will tell you to beware of the commitment that comes with a black vehicle. I'm just working on deciding on some details.

Picked up mine a couple weeks ago. Loving it so far! Swapped in the TRD Pro grill, Diode Dynamics yellow SS3 LED Fog Light Kit and backup LED bulbs and added some mud flaps. Trying to decide on lift now to go with Icon Compression wheels in bronze and 275/70/17 BFG KO2s.

From what I've read (and still researching!) it's a mixed bag. I'd rather be sure I don't rub when my adventures take me off road. Had that issue on my last truck and it was something that annoyed me.

Made some updates this morning! Removed the TRD OR stickers, threw on some Method 701s and Toyos 265/75/16, and swapped tail lights to TRD Pro version (no more chrome)
