marine alternators?

anyone know if there's a marine alternator for an 01 tacoma? i've been in the mud, and blown mine...

 

i dont know of one

 

find a local electrical in your neighborhood and have it rebuilt...

Why a "marine alt."? Are you planning on taking your truck for a swim?

 

last time i went out, it was me, 2 jeep cherokee's, and another taco. we all hit the same mud, but only the taco's alternators went out. i'd like to hit the deep mud again, without having to swing by autozone afterwards. y'know?

 

Mud is the worst enviorment for our Tacomas. Try and stay out of mud! If you must play in mud, prep your vechicle first.

Spray the engine and all electrical equipment down with WD-40. This is so the mud wont stick to the engine and such....

two tacoma alternators going out at the same time, but no jeep alternators going out? seems like a pretty big coincidence to me...

well, i'm open to suggestions. i'd like to beable to cross water/mud without being terrified.

 

Should have read this before trekking into the mud pits today... after the second splash, the alternator was fried. Made the 64 mile drive home, though... it's charging enough to keep the battery at around 11.5V at least.
