Im going to be getting another set of tires for winter and wheeling.

Im leaning towards the cooper's because i had them on my previous truck and loved them. Winter snow and slush or rain, not problems.

The bfg at's i have, and had them before, just sorta blow donkey in the rain and slick conditions.
I had km2s in the past, but they just disnt seem to be as good in snow as the cooper's.

Anyone have any first hand experience with the bfg km3?

Aren't the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs considered the best winter AT? That's what they run on all the smaller plow trucks and such here in my Vermont town. The Town manager told me flat out it was because of their snow performance.

That said, my buddy had those Coopers and LOVED them in New Hampshire so they are likely very good in the winter as well. I'm not sure any of the mountain-snowflake-rated ATs are that much different.

Why not get a set of winter tires for the winter?

Mud Terrains suck in the rain/snow/ice. It's the nature of the beast!

I've been running KM3s this Fall and Winter and they've been fine, no complaints here. Also in Vermont.

I'd normally agree, but ive never had real snow tires. And for me, the coppers have been my best snow tire ever. But im sure youre 100 percent right.

The only tire I run year round are Cooper STT Pro's and they are awesome in all conditions. Been running them for over 3 years or so and live in a hilly area and lots of snow. Most times I never even need the 4 wheel drive to get up those hills. So the peeps saying they suck etc are just wrong

I’ve never understood the attempt to find a tire that does it all, regardless of the conditions. They just don’t exist. If you have a lot of snow, ice, white-outs, etc. just get a good set of snows on steelies and put you’re AT/mud tires on the stock rims for spring/summer/fall. You still get a fantastic bang for your buck because you’re putting half the mileage on each set of tires so they last twice as long. Where I live it’s incredibly frustrating to watch a driver with all season tires try to make it around on the roads when dedicated snow tires are so much safer and more efficient.

    You misunderstood.

I should have just gotten the cooper to begin with. For me, and my years of experience with them in all conditions, they ARE the do it all tire.

Apparently I must have misunderstood you...you asked about the benefits of different tires in wintery conditions and yet you'd already come to the conclusion that the Cooper's ARE the do it all tire. Sometimes I don't get the point of this forum.
