[IMG] Ran to the farm to let the tacos run. 02 idles fine. 95 idles fine.

The 95s power steering fluid hates the cold though

Picked up two sets of keys and fobs from McGeorge, and had the keys cut by VIN at my local dealer.

Also picked up some drink coasters to stop my steel water bottles from rattling so much.

Thanks for the part numbers, my unlock button on the fob doesn’t work.

I wonder if you could purchase and program a newer OEM Toyota key that had the buttons on it and program it to the truck.

If I'm not mistaken, the part number will vary. The FOB is tied to the FCC ID and must match the original (they used more than one). Confirm with a parts dept before ordering. When I replaced mine, I searched eBay for the FCC ID and ordered. No issues.

does it just constantly lock but never unlock? I had a single button fob, once to lock, once to unlocked. It eventually only locked and never unlocked. Or I heard it unlock and immediately lock again. Been using the key but god I miss the remote.

Two buttons, unlock (doesn’t work) feels different when pushing down than lock (does work) so I’m guessing something got knocked loose or snapped off inside. Not a bad price to replace one, I figured they’d be more.

There is a "weakness" with the 1st gen FOBs in that the signal receiving area is small, so we do what is natural - you smash the button harder, amiright?
I would have to do some serious searching but there is a thread/writeup about boosting the receiving area on a 1st gen.
The guy that did the writeup, he shifted the receiver to area above the windshield, forward facing towards the hood.

My front differential breather seems to be puking a good bit these days.
Thinking I'll extend it up higher or to somewhere else to hopefully minimize that in the future or at least get it to a place where the gear oil doesn't end up all over other stuff.

For anyone else who's done this, where did you move it to/how far up higher was enough?

Really, the problem is that oil gets into the line and then trapped by air. As the air heats up and expands behind the oil, it pushes the oil up and out (almost regardless of how high you put the line).

The solution is to install one of these where the breather is (remove the internal foam filter when you install it), then add a couple inches of 3/8" fuel line (from Napa or wherever), and install the breather there (extended ~2"). This little bugger will allow the air to pass by the oil, and then the oil to drain back into the diff.

Since your current breather might be all gunky, you can replace it as well if you want (but it's probably not really necessary). 90930-03136 Plug Breather (or, this Dorman 924-284 is cheaper and works just as well).

    What's a fob?
I have a manual hub 2000 SR5 V6 4x4 (last year available) crank windows, manual door locks, no power mirrors, no intermittent wipers or clock and a shift it yourself 5 speed manual.Cassette and single CD player too. Bought it new in 2000, still going strong at 167,000 + miles. It's lived it's life in Colorado at 9000' feet and has treated me great, towing toys and been to Moab many times.

Not necessarily “today” but over Christmas break I did a few projects. Including but not limited to valve cover gaskets, wheel bearings, rear brakes and seals, UCA’s, new belts and fluids, bought/cleaned up a leer shell from Facebook, mounted a set of Baja designs s1’s in the front bumper as fog lights, as well as a set of squadron sports as ditch/cowl lights. Also installed a Pioneer DMH W4660NEX CarPlay head unit and 4 JBL Club 6x8 coax speakers. Sounds infinitely better. The truck is definitely coming along!

Is this with the dealer installed fobs I guess? I feel like my system is aftermarket since it was tied to an alarm.

263,000 on it. Frame is 3 or 4 years old now so decided to use this one as my utility truck and picked up a plow for it.
