I once got a set of Cooper ATP's from DT and they were horrible...They could never get them balanced so I traded them for Nitto's back then. Since then I've had 2 sets of Cooper AT3's and they have been pretty good although I agree with that the good tread only lasts about 30k miles and then they are pretty slick after that. I'm thinking about Toyo AT3's next time.

Well I think they are still a ways out from production on these. I think they said these won't be available until 2025 or something like that. Also is it a Tacoma or a baby Tundra? Body lines & panels look almost identical to a Tundra but it's small like a Taco. I wouldn't bank on getting one of these as a "tow rig" after seeing Rivian's cross country trip towing with the RT1 they had to stop and charge every 100 miles :alien:

Edit: probably the new Tacoma model refresh coming in a year or 2. There's already spy shots of it all camo'd out in Colorado.

100 miles? That’s shit. The whole reason for thinking the Taco would be viable was I noticed the Rivian could tow 11k but if it’s getting 100 miles a charge that don’t cut it :bananadead:

Anyone need or want a set of weathertech window visor for 3rd gen double cab. Not sure if it will fit 2nd gen. Just needs some good double sided tape.
Free if you can pick up in Pflugerville or by my work in Central Austin

Tried a fairly new BBQ place today... it ranks.up there with some of the central Texas legends and beats many others.

Just up the road in Jarrell.

    Howdy!
I recently moved to Austin with my first gen Tacoma a couple months ago. I started digging around on TW today and was happy to find this group! Do you guys still do meetups? Looking to make some new friends out here. Moving to a new city with a work from home job hasn't gotten me too far yet lol.

Welcome to TW and to Austin, Taylor!

Meets have been infrequent because of the death cooties, but we hope to start meeting back up regularly once all this is finally over.

What part of town can we spy you rolling in? What kind of business are you in to be so lucky to WFH?

Thanks, happy to be here! I live in the Sunset Valley area off Mopac. I currently work in the vendor management department for a property management company that owns single family homes around the country. I'll get some pics up of the truck once I get it cleaned up this week. Trying to get this truck running back to 100%. I've ran into some issues after getting it out here and Its been rough not having a garage to work on it.

Looking forward to hopefully meeting some of you soon enough

I recently replaced the u-joints I could as well as the Carrier bearing and I'm still getting some vibration as well as squealing on the driveshaft. I've concluded its my double cardan joint (Double u-joint). From what I've seen on other TW threads about this, Toyota considers this joint to be non serviceable and therefore there are not replacement u-joints that are specifically designed for this double cardan joint.

I just found this recent thread with Timmah! giving good advise - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/u-joint-replacement-questions.749275/#post-26688210

Basically its a PITA to rebuild this joint. Looking to replace the shaft with something with more serviceable parts. @Texoma

Welcome to Austin! There are many of us down in that area. I used to live off of Brodie Ln over there but have since moved up to Canada due to the work commute. @Texoma is our goto for any mechanical needs. He does great work I can verify! If you're on the FB or Insta's checkout his shop page "Triple C Chop Shop"

Good morning y'all. This is my first post in the Austin Area TW Chapter thread. I'm in the Cedar Park/Leander/Jonestown area so if you see a Calvary Blue TRD OR Taco with a couple antennas whippin in the wind give me a Jeep wave. Jk, don't do the Jeep wave...
