Sounds like a lot of people here have never had frostbite. Or, a job that sometimes requires working in the weather.

    Yes, just yes.

    I'll even take a Midwest 100° over 10°.

    Fuck the cold

How could anyone possibly enjoy weather that will kill you?

I have. Used to do property maintenance years ago. Current we have fans for the summer and huge heaters in the ceilings for the winter. I work by one of the bay doors and it opens and closes through out the day. It's nice for the summer but suuuuucks in the winter

Oh there will be some mods all right
I used to load trucks and it was much nicer to have a freezing trailer brought up to load than it was a 120 degree steaming hotbox :bananadead:

I work outside. Road construction among other things.

The cold sucks unless you're just hauling.

The heat sucks unless you're just hauling

At the end of the day, heat sucks less than cold especially when something breaks down or you got to fix something

Fueled planes in college: 10 hour shifts outside in every kind of weather... prefer 10 to 90 anyday. -20 sucked, but can always get warm... Frostbite-no, but I would say that comes from something getting sideways (just my opinion, no disrespect intended) as the only times I have ever gotten close was something breaking (snowmobile) or incompetence.

Yeah, the frostbite was my own fault. But, it was either work or go home.

Some like it cold, some like it hot. Cold weather can just kill you more easily. Plus, being cold is more uncomfortable for me. I can jump in a lake, or sit in the shade. Can't hide from the cold.

Edit: working in the trades, we don't always have a warm place to go. Luckily, my current employer is a lot more accommodating. When we have to do freezer work, it's usually anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours, then a break.

Agreed. I prefer the heat to the cold. We're still running though. It was -6 on Superior the other day

I was wondering why nobody has been showing up for driveway beer Friday!FB04F9ED-D340-4B09-9F62-9FE01A90DB27.jpg

I went to the Marine base @29 Palms in California to help our son move back home in August a few years back. It was 121°. 116° in the shade. We were leaving in the morning to drive the cars and rental truck back to Wisconsin. They didn’t use air conditioning. I told them to turn the air on or I’ll start driving back now. They both said it was comfortable. 100° in the house. I grabbed the uhaul keys and left.

I’ll take 10° over +100° trying to sleep!

    Lol!

I will concede that sleeping in 80+° weather can be uncomfortable.

But, have you ever camped in 10°? I bet it sucks. :D

Anyone have suggestions on local shops to source some Deaver leaf springs from? I'm in Kenosha so closer to that area is better. Just trying to see if I can support a local place before buying online from Headstrong/Accutune.

PS apologies as I know there is info about this somewhere in this thread but I've searched and can't find it after looking through hundreds of pages. I can never keep up with this thread.

Need a lift. Any of you Cheese heads live in or around Appleton.

I just accepted a new position with Ariens in Brillion, so I'm hunting for housing. Time is a push, start date is 2/7, need to relocate 400 miles. Trying to move in on 2/1.

Any tips or directions would be deeply appreciated.

Planning a house hunting trip in the next few days or early next week.

I tried doing this locally and the place wanted too much money. They wanted to charge for powder coating the leaf springs too.

Ended up being cheaper to ship them from headstrong Offroad.
