I got my 2022 OR DCLB and paid full MSRP ($40,818 before tax and fees) and considered it a deal with some dealerships adding on shortage mark ups. I'm curious what kind of a deal I could've expected in the before times. What were the standard deals? What were the great deals?

I paid 35k for my 2017 OR DCSB (new), near fully loaded (no JBL but all the other tech/sunroof packages). Not sure if that was a 'deal' or not but.
That price also included the dealer buying/installing me a pro grill and full tint on the truck.

I bought right before 'rona really started poppin off, ~ feb 2020, and I think the pricing threads at the time indicated that a 10% discount was pretty good, some people reporting up to 15% off but it wasn't common.

I paid about the same price for my 17' OR DCSB Premium fully loaded with sunroof, Rear cover, and Tech no JBL. $41.8k MSRP paid $34k and they gave .9% through TFSS. I am also buying another 22' right now from the same dealer and I'm going to get it for MSRP so paying $8k more for basically the same truck.

Bought my 2020 in Feb of 21 w/12K miles on the Odometer. Sport with tech pkg. 35.7K. Felt like I was overpaying a couple grand at the time but damn glad I pulled the trigger when I did.

    Oh look, another mod....
I bought my 21' Tacoma RIGHT before the prices shot up. It's a fully loaded TRD OR with the tech/advance tech/sunroof/leather/surround view camera system in it. It had 10 miles on it when I bought it. I actually got a $1k rebate from Toyota and 2.17% interest rate.

I paid $45.6k for it. Now the same truck is going for $50k +, with less options! When I bought it, I thought "Man, I could have gotten a better deal!". Then I read the news about prices going up. Now I'm extremely grateful for the incredible deal that I got.

It's like the saying goes: You don't know how good you really have it, until you see others with less than you.

Edit: I just found a truck (almost similar to mine); and this is what they're asking for it:

I paid a little over $36k for my 2019 TRD OR w/ premium tech, sunroof & JBL system. MSRP in my area at the time was just a little under $42k & they threw in a ski resort season pass in with my purchase.

It seems like most folks were shooting for 10-15% off MSRP pre-pandemic.

I was looking at off lease trucks in August and by the time I got ready to buy...average price jumped about 5K. Went for new instead of used one with 20K miles or more for only a couple grand less.

Seems like about 4-6k off sticker was common. Or you could go through all the pricing threads from the last 9 months with people who bought pre 2021 commenting.
New is a no brainer, unless its a friends/family type discount for one aka a real discount.

I priced an off road double cab long bed in February 2020, I didn't buy it cause you know what hit, looking back I wish I would have. Here is the quote.

I think something like 5-10% off sticker was pretty common.

I would have to search out my old post from 5 years ago, but think I paid about $800 under MSRP for my 2017. I'd consider MSRP a good price these days, which is sad.

Pretty much this. I got 12% off MSRP (no gimmicky dealer add-ons) for my 2020 TRD Off-Road premium purchased on Black Friday 2019. @Kamin (op) if you search the what did you pay for your truck threads for 2019, it will give you a good idea for prices.
