On another note, I've been driving for almost 11 years, and that incident when leaving AutoZone was the first time anyone has EVER voiced their opinion about me talking on the phone and driving (which I rarely do to begin with); I get annoyed when I see people texting and driving, but I won't confront them about it because (A) it's none of my business, and (B) they could be some psycho who is possibly armed. I would have reacted a bit nicer to that Karen if I wasn't focused on trying to get truck home before it died completely; That's the other thing...

I wouldn't have been on the phone while driving if my alternator hadn't suddenly and spectacularly shit the bed; Nobody ever knows the personal situation of somebody they don't know. It wasn't a life and death emergency, but it still rather urgent that I (A) got the truck home before it died, and (B) found someone who could fix the truck that weekend. For all she knew, my mom could have fallen down the stairs or my dog could have been hit by a car. What it boils down to is that I didn't hurt her by being on the phone, talking on a cell phone while driving is NOT illegal in Pennsylvania, we didn't almost have a collision, and she really needed to mind her own damn business. When I said "Fuck you" in response, it was not directed at her as a person; It was my frustration with the fact that my truck was dying and someone had the nerve to involve themselves in my business.

My friend Doug (who as stated above also has Aspergers) gleefully admitted that he blared his horn at a random woman in an SUV, and flipped her off, simply because she had bumper sticker on her vehicle that he didn't agree with; What was on the bumper sticker is not important, and I gave Doug the "they could be a psycho with a handgun" lecture. I only use the horn if somebody cuts me off or does something really stupid, and Doug seemed to understand why it was a bad idea to beep at someone and give them the finger for any reason.

Good advice, is he the one that was driving with his High Beams on?

Yup! When he was following me; From what I was able to gather, his parents told him when he was learning how to drive that he should always keep his high-beams on when there's nobody in the opposite lane. Apparently, it didn't occur to him that he shouldn't keep the brights on when there's somebody in front of him!

    :annoyed:

He'd had his license for over three years at that point, and heaven only knows how many people he pissed off until I finally told him the proper way to do it. This had to be in 2011 at least, because I obviously had my license, but I seem to remember he was driving his mom's 2007 Camry Hybrid instead of the 2003 Highlander Limited (which was gifted to him in 2011). His dad bought the Altima that year, and he stopped sharing the Camry with his mom after getting the Highlander, so I have no idea why he was in the Camry.

I pulled over, walked over to his car, and screamed at him; He truly didn't grasp what the big deal was, but shut off his brights. He also managed to obtain a Pennsylvania driver's license without having ever learned how to pump gas; In New Jersey, where you can't pump your own gas, I can understand this. However, in Pennsylvania I deemed it unacceptable for a guy in his early 20s to not know how to pump gas and forcibly taught him how to do it.

I'll admit that sometimes I have the same "common sense" issues as Doug sometimes, like earlier this afternoon when I took Porter and Clover through the front door instead of the backyard gate; Sure, it resulted two wild dogs leaving some muddy pawprints on the floor, but it has nowhere near the ramifications of driving with your high-beams on all the time!

A coworker gave me this 1930s floor jack to scrap; He was going to restore it, but parts are impossible to find... :(

And then this 1996 Honda Civic belongs to another coworker; It has like 250K miles on it and, in typical Honda fashion, refuses to die...

It has an AM/FM radio with no cassette or CD player, and no power steering, but it has factory A/C that actually blows cold!

Nice, l think l have a 4 wheel disc brake kit stashed in the garage. One day l need to gather everything up so l can put it up for sale. That appears to be a Super Beetle which is different from a Standard Bug.

probably just needs a seal kit and some fresh fluid. With the price of new jacks from horrid fright though it's hardly worth the time to rebuild it, plus the old ones weigh a ton compared to newer jacks of the same rating.

No thanks, I've got about 3 or 4 jacks in the shop. Scrap it and buy something for yourself!
