I bought my 2016 in 2015 and got about $500 off MSRP. The new generation buying frenzy in my area was intense and the Costco Auto Program would not deal on any TRD Tacomas at that time.

OP, try not to dwell on the past. If we all did that, I would be kicking myself a lot harder for not keeping my 81 Vette I bought new off the showroom floor for $15,400.

Nov 2019, TRD OR 6MT for 32k plus fees. I think after warranty, taxes, and fees I ended up paying about 37k.

    Edit:

Found my sticker for MSRP comparison.

That's crazy, there were nothing but double cabs in California (nd Arizona..and Nevada...) when I bought my truck early 2020. Had to go all the way to northern Oregon to find my 2019 V6 TRD OR Access Cab. Got it "used" with 4k miles on it for just over $30k

There were plenty of double cab short beds, but not long beds.

I paid every cent of sticker for my '16. They wouldn't even throw in the floor mats to make me feel better. lol

Depending on where you live, discounts could still be hard to get on Tacos.

I wish dealerships offered this. I HATE the shenanigans in the finance office, whether you're financing or paying cash..you have to go thru all the dumb sales pitch for unnecessary shit.

5-10% off MSRP was the going rate in Ohio, but there were also incentives which could get you up a few more percent.
I bought mine in Oct 2020 for 7% off, no extra incentives.

Wow. Is the dealer margin even 12%???? Can’t even imagine a discount that big in Canada.

Sticker on my pro was 46,118. I paid 40,500 out the door with the 500 max tax in South Carolina brand new in 2018. Current prices are sickening! Loaded off roads at the time we’re 34-37k. I feel like I got a steal these days.

April 2018, I bought a new 2018 4runner offroad premium. I got them to accept 36500 plus tax. Msrp was 40500ish. I paid about that much after taxes(no trade as I sold my car and truck privately).

2022 4runner offroad premiums are now 47-48k MSRP. Most dealers won’t do invoice anymore. Hard to find anyone doing under MSRP.

I bought my '17 TRD Sport for $5000 less than MSRP. It helped that the dealer had 3 MT trucks at the time and were having trouble selling them.

    In April 2020…..
I paid $36.5k for my 2020 double cad short bed TRD sport 4x4. No leather or sunroof but most other options.

better…. I got 0% financing for 60mos and a lifetime power train warranty. Seemed like a good deal at the time.

Almost identical story here. I bought my 2021 in December 2020. TRD OR long bed, tech package, leather, etc. I think it was $44,480 before tax. I ended up using a broker which was the best decision I've ever made buying a car. For financing I went through a local credit union and got in at 2.99%.

Traded my '20 KTM 1050 Super Adventure R; I miss the bike but enjoy my Taco more. Surprisingly, McGeorge on Broad in Glen Allen gave me an excellent price on the KTM that I used as a down payment. I was expecting more of a hassle with a bike. I'm guessing the fact that it had less than 5K miles on it helped.
