My old Subaru Outback 6MT had the gear displayed in the instrument cluster. When I first got it I thought it was kinda gimmicky but after spending some time with it, I found it to be helpful for those moments when you're paying more attention to the music playing than to the engine or tach. In that car, every gear had no power so it was hard to tell the difference between 3rd and 5th or 4th and 6th.

I hear you for the gear indicator. I’ve had a bunch of Vw’s and would look down at that all the time. I drove this f250 the other day, would’ve loved the indicator on that. It had L and then 1st. First wasn’t very first an felt like second. At least when I stalled in the intersection it did. L to 1st was a dogleg. After 2 gear i had no idea what was going on.

Old school Subaru's were lucky to have speedometers. :D:rofl:And, forget crumple zones. This was my first 'new" car - 1976 4WD Wagon. This was the first year they offered 4WD.

Update from KTJO @ 7:21 AM:

They are in transit as we speak. As soon as we have them we will let everyone know. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I wonder if she meant to say “they are in a container on a ship headed for the log jam off Long Beach”.

I love how this hud has been in production for two years and still has only been tested on one 2016 Tacoma; Yet the item is still listed and sold under the 2016 TO 2021 subcategory. Not even an automated email letting people know they need a harness. If you don't stalk her social media, you have to come search the site she is banned from to find out. AND in a thread for another one of her items that's SHOT because the hud thread is locked! What a cluster fuck.

    Yup, complete disaster!
I've been stalking her social media since she announced the huds came in to simply update my address with zero response. Sucks to get beat as one of the first few backers. What a weird way to run a business. Hopefully my complaint to the consumer affair folks goes somewhere.

Is it possible to get an OBD Y connector to use ,where no need to unplug HUD unit when using the OBD port.

The HUD product appears to be gone from the KTJO site. Maybe because of the harness issue I guess.

Edit... must have been a temporary glitch. As Ryan DCLB said, it's back.

With all the talk of the "hardness socket" and such it's hard to know for sure, but this page from the install instructions kind of makes it appear that a pass-thru OBD port is provided in the harness. Only someone that has received the actual kit would know for sure.

I did order the bowl lights. Ordered Ice blue, got white. Told them multiple times, on multiple platforms that I got the wrong color and all they want to do is send me a different wiring harness.
Havent heard from them in a couple of weeks, so I guess Im stuck with white. Luckily I saw here, that someone put blue tint on theirs and it seemed to work. Im going to go that route and not order anything from KTJO again.

I think your plan will work for you.
