We have a few guys around Green Bay and Sheboygan. Everyone's pretty friendly around here.

I don't have any advice for the house hunting, but maybe some of the guys from up that way can chime in.

    Welcome to Wisconsin!

I’m fat! I’ll take my chances

Boy Scouts we camped outside in winter. It was probably mid 20°’s since we had snow on the ground.
I had a mummy bag. The main thing was to pack a coat and sweater in the bag. It wasn’t so bad till you had to go take a piss at 5am!

Thanks. I lived in Sun Prairie, just NE of Madison, for 5 years. Very familiar with Wisconsin.

Guess I should've been more clear. Appleton proper is NOT a requirement. Looking to the Appleton area.

Yes, been scourging Sherwood, Little Chute, Menasha, ..........for places.

Kinda weird, just received an email from a apt complex with a link to their floor plans. This in response to my initial email with a move-in date of 2/1. All of the suggest floor plans are WAIT LIST. So, maybe sometime on someday, I could move in.......not likely to happen by 2/1.

Yeah, I go to the Cabelas in Sun Prairie occasionally. There are a bunch of nice little towns right around Brillion. Further from Appleton should be cheaper. Are you looking to rent an APT? rent/buy a home?

Realtor.com is pretty handy for browsing homes.

When we lived in SP, that whole SW side was only a Hy-Vee grocery store. We moved from there in 2010. So much has changed in 11 years.

Right now, looking to rent anything. I figure I can live in something for a year while getting my bearings on the area. The family is staying in the 1 home we own.....don't want to saddle up on 2 mortgages.

    It will look like this:ec02a6a7-3328-4b99-8473-fecbbfc8caed-large3x4_RoadAmerica.jpg
Only it will say D1RT. I got that because I'm always on gravel roads, I enjoy racing on dirt whether it is short course or oval track, and my vehicles are always dirty :D
