I keep track of calories and try to watch them (some times and then watch out I’m hungry)
I was wondering about them one day and were pretty much the same so decided against it and got the real-ish??? Meat

 

How was that?

 

Kinda dry, and overpriced!

 

I always wonder how the exotics taste, but 9/10 times seems to be disappointing over the tried and true beef, chicken and pork. Gator is okay, but I'm not a big fan of fish so the fishy taste is a big let down.

 

Toe's delima; my bad cholesterol has been a little on the high side and the Dr prescribed me silvastaten or something like that.
My previous Dr who is now retired told me 10 years ago, yeah its a little on the high side but so is your good cholesterol. He said he didn't have a lot of faith in what is always deemed healthy, and that those levels are all over the board for all types of people.
Basically said down the road this view of cholesterol levels...they could reverse their stance on those numbers.
I picked up prescription after work today but reluctant to take them
I already take a very low dose for my blood pressure and have to use drops in my eyes for glaucoma every night.
What say you fellas? Dr's orders follow them?

I'm no Dr, but you could give it a shot for a week and see if you feel any different. My cholesterol is high too, the bad kind, but I can't stay away from what I like to eat. Just been trying to add in more veggies to counterbalance lol

 

Alot of people have joint pain from taking Statin related pills. Your call tho Toe.

 

Gator was the one thing I had to have when we were in New Orleans. Ended up having it twice - once on a pizza and once on a platter with a bunch of other stuff. It wasn't bad and at least it didn't taste like chicken.

 

I take simvastatin 20mg, it causes foot cramps for me. Any other statin I’ve tried has caused all kinds of aches/pains/shitty attitude. I will say that heart disease is on both sides of my family, but for the last 4 years I’ve gotten the calcium screening on my heart and every year it has shown 0 plaque buildup in my heart, so it’s keeping my heart clean, hopefully all other arteries/veins are clear also.

 

Yeah, I kind of thought like suggested to try it awhile but first read all the possible side effects so I know what to watch for.

Really? I thought it tasted like fishy chicken lol Well, close to anyway. Had it fried as nuggets.

 

My pizza was gator sausage and the platter was deep fried. I don't remember it having an overly fishy taste, though. I'm sure how it's prepared makes a difference.

 

I will also add that when I quit smoking and drinking too much my cholesterol dropped 40 points, from 210 total to 170 total. Although I could buy a pack of cigarettes right now and smoke 1/2 a pack by tomorrow morning, but I’ve not had one since November? But the craving is back, but I ain’t starting that shit again.

 

I'm probably more sensitive to it than most. I grew up on fish sticks for a good portion of my childhood and it made me hate fish. Now I almost never touch it unless its sushi.

 

I already cut that, so I'm screwed lol Still high here and I'm only 30. High blood pressure runs in my family too so I get to look forward to that.

The cravings never subside unfortunately. Anytime I see someone light up a cig I want one, but I know better. I've been off cigs for almost 7 years now. I do an occasional Cigar with friends, but I don't inhale those.

 

I take 80mg Atorvastatin. Have leg and foot cramps nearly every night.

 

Consensus I'm getting here is stay away from statins. Got it.

 

I only have it in Hawaii or New Smyrna Beach.
