It’s just 2 people right now.
So sometimes things can be slow. If you need something I can also reach out if you need it.

I appreciate it and understand (I'm a little slow all the time). The thing is, I was told, "...your order is just about complete and will be getting prepared for packaging," on November 4th (order #2984). Considering the amount of money spent, and to such a small business during a pandemic that has been shutting even large companies down, it just makes me a little nervous to not have status updates. It's also a little frustrating to see SOS have free shipping or that black Friday sale b/c it appears SOS is trying to increase sales and how busy they are, rather than focus on getting prior orders out.

I understand a steady revenue stream is important and that it's not my business. Most people are understanding enough that a simple, "Hey, we are still working on your order, but..." would help cull anxiety and frustration.

This probably wont make things seem better for you, but your product does not get produced, finished, packaged, then shipped individually. It will go on a pallet and sit with a couple of dozen other finished orders on the shop floor, then get loaded onto a big honking trailer and taken to the shipper all at one time. To do otherwise doesn't make business sense.

Eddie is not going to fuck you over. If you ordered on 10/11, you are probably just about due to get your stuff. 8 to 12 weeks is about the norm. Hang tight. You will love those sliders when you get them.

And who the heck is Samantha? Did @Acerwin's wife go to work for SOS?

I'm kind of glad to hear this, actually. When Eddie had more hands on the tools things seemed to go a bit downhill. I 100% trust his work, but not so much others.

That all makes sense and the vote of confidence gives me confidence. The good news on November, only to wait now+ is what was frustrating a little anxiety provoking, is all.

He is also not outstanding on communication, but the product is on point. Right about the time I thought my sliders should be due, I got an email to come pick them up.

I understand how you feel. The first product I ordered from SOS was actually sliders, and it seemed to take forever to get them. After I got them on the truck one of the first things they did was save my passenger door panel from a Walmart asshat driver. I've hammered them on rocks and trees since and they have never let me down.

    Prepping with paint.

Somebody's poor ass white quarter panel lost some paint.

No doubt, and he will be one of the first to tell you that. I'm lucky to be 45 mins away from him and can just go pick my shit up when it's done.

I used to lose tail lights with some regularity until I got that rear bumper from @JimboAnz

I've literally parked the truck on that front bumper. Eddie installed that IFS skid for me on my truck right before we went wheeling at AOP in TN. He may not email me when my shit is getting made, but damn if that's not some customer service.

You’re in good hands. There was a misunderstanding when i asked SOS if the transmission skid would specifically fit my converted prerunner (transmission sits an inch further back) and they said yea. Drove 6 hours to pick it up, went to install and it didn’t fit. Let Eddy know and he immediately apologized, made me a custom new skid and shipped it free to my door within like a week. Let me keep the old one which I then used to make a (a very ugly) transfer case skid! Super awesome company

Just about every company that makes stuff like this has an 8 to 12 week lead time. Eddie does good work, I have off roaded with him a few times know he understands that people need their armor asap and it needs to hold up to beating it on rocks on the trails. Eddie is a good guy and I don't think he would make you wait any longer than he has to.

Looks great - thanks for the update! Yah, I believe mid-November I asked about the status. Because they still weren't ready, I asked if powder coat would delay it further and was told no, so I had them throw it on (I was able to save a bit more cash for it during the wait, so that's a silver lining to it all!)

What do the lead times look like for uncoated sliders?

I’ve been shopping sliders for some time now and I think I’ve decided on SOS.
