Good for you on quitting the cigarettes. I've had the nasty habit since 13 years old but not steady regular until a little after that. 15 probably. So almost 40 years. Think of the money wasted and bad for health. I wonder if I'd never get sinus trouble and chest colds if I didn't smoke.
Odd thing is on my pulmonary function test I'm always very good. That and say like last outage I worked in Phoenix, working with a person in excellent shape 34 years old and muscles lol
Anyway we had to torque these large flanges, 16 studs inch diameter and several passes. Hot, dressed out in anti contamination clothing. He did one I did the other. When we were done, he said he was impressed, there's guys half my age couldn't do it

I'll be the odd one and say I don't go to burger king unless something new comes out, like those Ghost Pepper nuggets they had. Good stuff. I do like their breakfast Crossaint sandwiches but I'm not up that early to benefit being on night shift. Taco bell is across the street and so is sonic, so I tend to gravitate to Taco Bell with an occasional stop at sonic. Wish Taco Bell would stop adding good stuff to the menu only to pull it two weeks later...

I've put off the colonoscopy for 4 years, I'm still not certain I'm going to do that.

 

Doctor tried me on 10mg of that, all I could do was sit on the couch and do nothing. Back to simvastatin I went!

 

Damn , I may ask to switch or something.

 

Do it! Just don’t eat green jello the day of the prep.

 

I think all the statins suck due to body aches, memory problems, etc. I’ve tried 3 or 4, always came back to simvastatin. Everybody is different though.

 

Thanks for sharing because this is what I'll be watching out for.
There are many days I get ample chair time but other days I'm on my feet all day, sometimes humping stairs or even worse might be standing in one spot at a latheor mill. My feet are main things that pain me.
Today the welder dude sits behind me, I ask if he's alright, he looked wore down. He said yeah, made 4 trips up and down the quad...82 steps down 140 up he saidhe said felt like it anyway

 

When I started my current job, they did a physical and said my cholesterol was 246. I was 27 years old. I tried changing my diet and nothing worked, except simvastatin. Good for you on the no smoking!

 

I tried a home remedy of drinking Welches Concord grape juice with Certo in it. It worked for me. My feet always burned and ached. I no longer need it since I'm retired now.

 

It is a long story so I will give the short version:

My previous Doctor put me on Lipitor (atorvastatin calcium) it was in the top 5 worst decisions of my life... (and this coming from someone who had not 1 but 2 PT Cruisers... ) I'm not hanging the Dr out to dry here, this med and I turned out to be very incompatible.

If you decide to go with it be very aware of any side effects.

Side effects of Lipitor may include:

• constipation,
• diarrhea,
• nausea,
• fatigue,
• gas,
• heartburn,
• headache, and
• mild muscle pain

• muscle wasting and muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis),
• confusion or memory problems,
• fever,
• dark urine,
• increased thirst or hunger,
• drowsiness,
• loss of appetite, or
• yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice).

 

I was on Lipitor for about 2 months.
I was in so much joint pain I could hardly work.
So I stopped it and the dr said why did I stop it.
I told him and he said
That was no reason just to stop it…..

 

Lipitor, is exactly what a former coworker was on (retired now and thankfully still doing good). Anyways his bad effects from it, many what you mentioned is why I'm hesitant. Although I have no idea if this simvastatin is the same thing or not, perhaps just a generic name same stuff! Who knows. Anyways after he retired, was able to change diet, and he's off or lower dose of many medications last I talked to him. He retired 8 years ago or so.

Cramps - cured!

I happened to mention to an older friend about having foot/leg cramps. These often occurred in bed, heck of a way to wake up at 2 in the morning.

He immediately said he knew the cure and dropped a bottle off the next day. I am delighted to report that by taking 1 or 2 every day the issue went away, I then reduced my intake to about 3 per week.

I have shared this with many people and they all had the same positive result.

You need to get that done mr. It's not as bad as it sounds. If everything checks out ok they'll put it out ten years until next one. It's really not that big of deal, and I'd guess be much better off than getting cancer up in there!
