The vibration is pretty consistent whenever I am in gear and moving. it occasionally lessens after a gear shift but not with any consistency or in any particular gear. I feel it the most in the foot pegs but it can be felt pretty much through the bike.

I first thought it might be the rear wheel bearing and rebuilt the rear wheel which didn't do anything. I also replaced the chain just before all of this started and it was smooth as butter prior to dropping it so I do not think that is an issue at this point. I haven't looked at the clutch adjustment so that is a good idea, I have some cheap Amazon levers on the that made me nearly max out the adjustment so it is definitely worth looking at.

Also now that I am looking back into it after parking the bike for a few months I do remember when trying to diagnose it before I had tried running it at idle in first gear while on stands (I know not the safest plan in the world but sometimes troubleshooting calls for trying things we normally wouldn't do). When it is running at idle in first gear it will kind of bind up occasionally and the chain and rear wheel slow down for a second before starting to turn at a consistent speed again.

Forgot to post this yesterday, but I hit 44,000 miles on the F800GS as I was going home for lunch. No epic location for the photo unfortunately. Im pretty sure I bought the bike a little under five years ago at 27,000 miles. She’s rackin em up.

Broke down and ordered heated gloves today.

22* for 22 miles was a bit much for my current gloves

I feel like a spoiled brat because I live in SoCal so it doesn’t get nearly as cold as some places you guys live but I want to know as well. I’m pre-arthritic so my hands cramp up something fierce in cold weather. Granted I’m at a higher elevation that greater LA so I regularly see low 30s during deep winter.

have you checked chain alignment? Maybe there is a washer or spacer that was in wrong or one side of the swing arm slipped? I ran into an issue like this that was annoying but intermittent, then I installed a new chained and noticed the problem.

Does the bike tilt when you apply only rear brake? If so which way?

Double check the rear wheel alignment; it could be off from when you installed the new chain. Also, put the stock levers back on if you still have them and then set the proper amount of free play -- usually in the 4-6 mm range. Lastly, it sounds like the clutch plates may be sticking a little. Common issue on a bike that has been sitting for a while. Take the plates out and inspect them for wear. Measure them with a caliper to ensure they are within spec. An oil change may help as well.

Nice, those should be quality. When I bought gloves a few months back it was between those and the vanguard GTX long's. In the end I decided not to pony up the extra $100 to get the heated option. Regret.

Put little over 100 miles on since getting home Saturday around 16:30, mostly with the wife on the back. It has been cold, wishing it were a bit warmer. My heated grips keep me fine, not so much my wife haha she loves the upright seating with a partial backrest with the Givi top box. Today I got to do some sandy/dirt roads and mess with the rider modes. They seem to do what they state. This is a picture of the TC, Off Road mode vs Sport with Metzler street tires. I assume you can tell the difference.

They offered a mil discount that was quite generous.

My matrix has been a beast ever since I replaced the clutch. Even added a Cobb knob I had leftover from my wrx. Now it’s a race car.

Also it looks like a mouse has been gathering some nuts in the filter box.
