I know many people argue that led bulbs in halogen projectors stock headlight assemblies is garbage. Well like us you and I living here in wa that any extra light is necessary due to horrible driving conditions of I-5 . I upgraded my halogens to led bulbs 2 months after ownership with auxbeam LED's. Yes they are cheap but they worked for me . Honestly me I'm not gonna spend more money when I'm already satisfied with a product . So yesterday I updated my auxbeams to more up to date auxbeam for my truck . The price wasn't really much more than the first time . My old auxbeam LED's still worked just getting old , like 4yrs . When these led headlight assemblies get cheaper might consider but for now I'm that guy that doesn't really see the need right now

I will probably video for my YouTube channel, doubt it will be as good as Chloe’s but I will give it a shot.

I just received my halogen to LED adapter harness from @daveeasa. This item is top notch and has some very thoughtful additions. Very satisfied. At $85, it's also a lot cheaper than many alternatives.

I called the dealership where I bought my Sport and the parts guy quoted me an amount over $4K! He suggested trading it in for the upgrade.

Here's the math I used to realize the Sparks route is the better option:

    L + R OEM LEDs // Total Price // Harnes // Grand Total

    $625.26 X 2 = $1250.52 + $106 = $1356.52

$4K from dealership compared to under $1360 (or thereabouts) for OEM LEDs is doable...and not the other way around. I'm rationalizing this in my head...lol!

I’m sorry but that’s stupid the amount they are asking. 1300 isn’t bad but I also did just buy a bike so trying not to bleed the bank dry

I hemmed and hawed over these headlights for a couple months before buying them. Once I installed them I realized I should have done so sooner. Ed, if you're on the fence and can afford it, just do it. :boink:

I so want to add the LED Headlights because my incoming 2022 TRD Sport will not be factory-installed. That being said, I cannot spend $3K or more for Toyota to install them when I know they only cost $485 to be factory-installed. But dammit, they look beautiful!!!! :(

They run about $1300 for the set plus another $85 for a harness. Some have been able to find them for around $1100 for the set. They're not hard to install. You can do it yourself and there's plenty of forum members who will lend a hand or provide online help to walk you through it if you decide to upgrade.

Or, you could always start with Diode Dynamics fog lights and the H9 bulb conversion as a significantly cheaper option. Check out the links in this thread for the h9 conversion...

You should really wait until you get your truck to assume the lights aren't good enough. Look is one thing, but the Tacoma's have some pretty great headlights across the board. Not trying to deter you, but it's easy to jump the gun and start over planning before you even have the truck. Give it some time after you get it before you make these kinds of purchases. I'm willing to bet you'll be impressed.

I have a 22 TRD OR w/ DRL LEDs and I see these other lights like the sports have and think "damn, that looks pretty slick". The only difference from my lights to the PROs is the TRD PRO backlit badges, and while they do look good, certainly not worth the upgrade.

All I'm saying is be patient ;)
