What company towed you? I might be able to help with a friend.

I thought the same thing too....maybe the snow packed the emergency brake cable and froze over. I stopped pulling most people out due to wear and tear on my gear and vehicle. I'll help the elderly and easy pulls with my tracks or a tug, but the last time I did a serious pull was a tow truck. The tow truck driver was an entitled d bag. If you get stuck in some really thick stuff and you shouldn't be out there in your mini cooper, I'm not pulling you out.

A and A. I believe the truck is with the insurance company now. But thanks for the offer.

What Greg Said! If you have signal, it boost the the LTE and the phone service. So you can stream videos. The phone service in the mountains isn't that great so it isn't worth it in our area. If you're out west in the desert where its open, then it might be better.
    Places ive tried it at.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Most likely ice buildup. Common issue back in MI. If you have access to a heated garage or a garage you can heat, park it there with a good heat source for a few hours and let it thaw. Then drive it and get it everything warmed back up (brakes, trans, etc). That should get all of the moisture out.

Just on time to do it again this weekend. Looks like we have potential for another potentially "major" winter storm brewing.

Warrenton Area folks - I may need a place to shelter during the day / afternoon this Sunday, maybe Monday. There is the possibility of a major winter storm for Sunday afternoon into Monday, a foot of snow is possible depending on the track. My will have to work, and won't stay home. Which means me and the Taco may be headed to Warrenton from Winchester. Aside from sitting in the hospital for 12 hours, any ideas on a places to wait out the storm?

I was thinking that might be it but I was confused on why it continues to happen. Itll be warmer today so we will see if that’s actually the problem.

If that's what it is, in this temperature cycle it could take a few days. Park in the sun if you don't have access to the other stuff. We used to have to park our back vehicles in a garage for 24 hours to get them thawed out after we dug them out of parking lots or spaces on roads.

Thanks. Trying to avoid sitting in a crowded hospital full of sick people for 12 hours. Covid has everything full again. Sucks.

I didn't do a 180° but did slide just as far as Tyler did in the video you shared. The scariest part was regardless of which way you turned the steering wheel (I had it turned hard left to try to stick the rear end into the hillside) the truck went where ever it wanted. We must have slid at least 50 yards backwards without any control. Scary stuff when there is a drop-off down the mountain on the right.

Weather predictions anyone? I don't know about you guys, but I'm done helping people get unstuck who really shouldn't be out there (except for the medical ones of course).

Blacksburg is supposed to get like a foot Sunday, and I'm driving the transit bus that day. So that should be interesting.

    Me too haha!

Thankfully I'm only on a straight 35', cause the bendy bus would probably be a nightmare. Their only drive axle is the very rear axle in the trailer

Yeah, that could be fun. o_O

We're in the 6-10" range, but a 20-30 mile shift out to sea puts us in the 12-15 range. The same shift west puts in ice. Getting the wife home from Warrenton may be interesting Sunday pm.
