While I agree that Tacoma "Bulletproof reliability" is overstating it, for me with M/T being a deal maker/breaker and the only other option being a Jeep Gladiator...lets just all agree that as an automotive manufacturer, Jeep and Toyota are at the opposite ends of the reliability spectrum. There might be some disagreements about where Ford and GM are on the reliability spectrum, but for my money they are both closer to Jeep than Toyota.

Time and clever marketing has erased the dismal origin of the Jeep product. Most of you were not alive when Jeep was a part of the American Motors Company. You probably do not remember the roll-your-eyes styling flops of AMC car designs like the Rambler, Pacer, Matador and the Gremlin. Terrible reliability. I can't look at a Jeep without automatically thinking, "AMC" and imputing "piece of shit".

Most of you know nothing of unreliability. You didn't live in the time of unreliability. My 2018 Taco and my 413,000 mile 1993 4Runner are both head and shoulders above the other alternatives.

I have seen enough of them hit 200k in a short time to believe they are heading that way. And with all the improvements over the 2nd gen, they will be much better trucks in the long run than the 2nd gen.

What? you did not know about the rust issue? Yeah, that was one reason why the 3rd gen got a higher alloy frame steel. hmmm, maybe you should do some research. Also, you came into the 3rd gen to bash and now you accuse someone in their own forum bashing you back? you're precious.

    hmmm, that's what I call a pattern.

That or they were worried about hgh centering and decided to lift the center:rofl:

Thanks, read it. and you are right, duration does not change. I guess, some peoples definition of duration is different than reality:D

I get the downshifting going up steep hills, but i don't have any gear hunting either. My truck will stay in the gear needed accordingly to the grade of the hill, and amount on the go petal. It doesn't shift back, and forth. I guess you can say the same if i used the S modes.

    I saidf sh

No one mentioned 1st gens in this convo. Clearly you have trouble comprehending basic sentences. You even quoted the guy and saying 2nd gen and you still couldn't get the post right haha.

FYI 2nd gen and 3rd gen frames are almost identical. Why do you think Toyota is doing the CRC treatment to 3rd gens as well?

Where did I bash 3rd gens? Because I said they weren't bulletproof when it comes to reliability? Man, Toyota and the money you spent on your truck has your head DEEP inside your rear end lol.

My unfriend, you don't get it, not us.

But you fail to answer simple questions. Why are you here if you are a 2nd gen owner? Troll.
    "edited"
I am sorry, I just looked you up, and it appears that you act in the 2nd gen forum the way you do here, a totally worthless piece of flesh you are. You provide no input, you just troll and attack, you are a bitter, sorry, mentally messed up piece of you know what and we should all feel sorry for you.

This last page on this thread explains it all. There is certainly something wrong with you and you should seek help, before that nasty/bitter attitude eats you up inside.

LOL!!!! That guy was trying to do a compression test with water lol. He got mad at everyone on that post and started insulting everyone. Dude, you didn't even read the thread?

Again.. Pulling random info out of your ass... idiot.

I own a 2nd gen and drive a 3rg gen SR5 for my company truck. Again, you have no idea what you are talking about.

You get so mad when people call out a Tacoma for being less than bulletproof that that your only defense is to start throwing insults.

Again, please remove your head from your ass as it appears to be buried very deep.

Sorry, your credibility is all gone and no need to read one single thing you write. Bye bye. It's so nice to out a Troll. I feel bad for the 2nd geners having you on their forum. I think you should sell your truck and pickup a Chevy colorado.

FYI, those are first gen trucks. BTW the frame TSB covers 2017 trucks too. I don't have a dog in this fight, but dogging 2nd gens for the frame your 2017 also has is kind of off.
