    Lol!

A lot of great marriages start as being great friends first. As someone else said, hobbies are petty things in the long run

    The dreaded friend zone...

I keep telling myself I'm going to stop pursuing girls who are on the spectrum, but one comes along who "might be the exception to the rule" and I break my rule, then I end up regretting breaking my rule; What's confusing is that she keeps texting me and has told me some pretty personal things about herself.

    Last thoughts on this......

Keep her as a friend...only. Perhaps you will meet one of her friends to ignite sparks. Networking in a manner.

QUIT spending $$$ on her. Friends pay their own way.

It was the psychotic bitch from last summer who I regretfully spent a ton of money on; I bought the row of seats at the movie theater before inviting her, and she had like $200 in Regal gift cards so none of us paid for any food. If anything, this new girl has SAVED me money!

    Trust me......

NO woman in the world will save you money. Any saved $$ will be spent in another direction.

They are a bit like a boat. Bust Out Another Thousand.
Or keeping a classic vehicle on the road.
    Or any hobby.......

Except a Tacoma; This old thing has not cost me a lot in unscheduled maintenance. On another note, the girl being discussed in this conversation has offered me gas money on two separate occasions, and I've turned it down since it was local and she was actually on the way to and from my destination the second time.

Sure, your Tacoma has cost you money.

    Reminder, Halloween decorations. Upgrades........

I could claim my motorcycle that has been in storage for 8 years hasn't cost me anything. But that is not accurate. Each year, I drain the fuel tank and replace with fresh. It is covered by insurance. Registration each year.......

Sometimes people cite something minor as an excuse/scapegoat for their actual issue as an attempt to not hurt your feelings.
When my first serious girlfriend in college broke up with me, she said I should find a girl who was more into computers. I wasn't even that into computers... I had just been talking about scratch building a new PC lately.
A few years later, after a few dates with a girl I decided I just wasn't into her, but I felt like it would be mean to tell her "I find your personality repellent." So I blamed something else more minor, and then it clicked and I realized my college girlfriend didn't actually care that I wanted to build a new computer. She just didn't want to hurt me by telling me the real reason.
And just because this one particular girl doesn't like you back doesn't mean there's anything wrong with either of you, you're just not a match and that's fine. Find someone who is.

When looking for a partner the object is to find someone you genuinely like -- and who genuinely likes you, you can't successfully make or convince someone to like you, nor should you attempt to dramatically change for a person.

"she doesn't think someone like me who is obsessed with cars can't date someone like her who, in her own words, has zero interest in them"

You need to have enough common interests that you aren't boring each other to tears or driving them nuts.

    Example:
Imagine that every person could have a number from 1-100, indicating their likes, dislikes, beliefs and interests. The number isn't good or bad, it would just be an handy indicator of if you like basketball, opera music, Greek food, automobiles, etc..

Using that example: If your number happens to be 39 and you date a person with a number of 78 the two of you are going to be so far apart it will be difficult to enjoy each others company.
Conversely if your dates number happened to be 46 your getting to know each other would be filled with "hey, I like to do that" and "that is my favorite too". You both are going to enjoy spending time together.

    Age gap: (my opinion)
The older both parties get the less it matters, if we are talking 60 and 51 - not a big deal, 25 and 16 - yes, a big deal.

24 is pretty young and even if people are very responsible for their age it isn't a substitute for years and experience. You state "she is genuinely afraid of driving", she still has some growing and maturing to do.

I believe you will find yourself much happier with a partner having more life experience and maturity than any girl of 24.

The Tacoma is voluntary; I've got no problem treating a lady friend to a car show ticket and dinner, but I don't let anybody take advantage of me...

Look man all I’m saying is maybe once in awhile try posting something positive about how you deal with and overcome some of the challenges instead of constantly complaining about what you don’t like about it.

A perfect example would be yet another girl from that same group; My plan was to bring her to a car show and hook up with her...

She is broke as a joke and has not recently held down a job for more than a few weeks at a time; I was going to Venmo her thirty bucks for gas so she could drive down from Poconos (Her rich dad who has all but disowned her, but loves her enough to the help with the car payments, is the only reason she has a car). She ended up in the hospital for reasons I can't remember; I've known this girl since 2006 when we were both in 11th grade, and she ended up living with three other people I went to school with up in the mountains, including the girl I unfortunately actually had relations with.

She had the only car among the five people (including her and the mother of one of my former classmates) living in that house, none of them had any money for gas; She had the nerve to ask me if I could still Venmo her the thirty bucks so her loser roommates could use the car.

I told her that wasn't my problem, and that was the end of it.

I did come up with a positive way of dealing with masks, at least short term; I wear valved N95 respirators now, but I still haven't figured out how to wear a mask for hours on end.

And you're one of the members I like who actually adds valuable input to this thread; I just really want you to realize that I don't go around swearing at strangers who piss me off, because I really don't.

Honestly sounds like you may be a bit immature for a relationship. I can only go off what I'm reading, but there seems to be some "I did this, so I should get that" coming through. If the girl views you as a friend then either act like one and stop trying to get in her pants or tell her it isn't what you're looking for and cut or limit contact. If she tells you personal things, well, guess what, friends do that. It shows a level of trust, but that doesn't mean she's interested in you and looking for excuses not to be. Take her at her word.

It wouldn't matter if she thinks your age difference is too much or your eyelashes are too long. Her choice in relationships isn't up to you and it's not something for you to work at. Dating can work or not for any number of reasons. Don't go into it with expectations of who should like you or why. Everyone gets to make that decision for themselves and no one has to justify or explain their reasons to anyone else.

I admit my own shortcomings with regards to maturity, but I certainly don't want "get into her pants"; I've been with a girl who was entirely too eager to open her legs, and quite frankly skanky girls like the one I was with don't do it for me. This girl I am discussing right now is a class act, and I'm actually more attracted to her because she has standards and is so fiercely assertive.

On another note, I'm over it; She's the one who keeps text messaging me apologizing that she doesn't like cars (could care less) and talking about a trip to an amusement park that hasn't even been planned yet. I started this thread for the sole purpose of getting input, and even though there's a lot to like about her, I'd prefer to settle down with a woman who isn't terrified of driving.

As someone on the autism spectrum who put off getting a driver's license for years due to his own fears and shortcomings, I fully sympathize with this girl and understand where she is coming from; However, neither of us are big city people and the suburbs are pretty car-dependent.

But yeah, long story short; I am very attracted to this girl, but my endgame isn't to simply "get into her pants".

I've engaged in locker room talk both in person and on the internet, including here on TW to an extent; I've been to strip clubs a few times (haven't actually been to one in almost 6 years as of this post...

However, while I have thoughts like any other normal guy, I have very old school values when it comes to women. I've never been the type to pick up girls in bars; I've had random drunk women come on to me while out drinking with friends, and I'm put off. One of them even tried to kiss me!
