I'm planning on doing the same later in the year when the cash starts flowing better at work. I'm gonna go Bilstein 5100s with probably OME Dakars in the rear.

Definitely go with an actual lift kit (springs, shocks, UCA’s, etc…) and not a spacer… that is, if it’s in the budget. Going to my buddies shop at the end of the month to get my Eibach and Camburg kit installed. He got heat and room in his shop, mines a cluster-f! If you have any questions, shout them out… plenty of knowledge in this room alone to answer and point you in the direction of good quality stuff.

Where's your buddy's shop located? I might have him do mine later on. Or is he a private dude

It’s at his house… up around Hagerstown. He’s the lead commercial diesel mechanic at my work, and does a little side work on the weekends for extra cash. I’ve yet to go there, he just bought the place. Let me know when your ready and have all your components, and I’ll ask him.

If it's all plug-n-play I don't mind helping you to the best of my abilities. Taillights are about a 30 minute job taking your time. Even once the HID's are installed into the housing, the headlights are also very time consuming. You have to remove a lot of front end parts to get them out. That's where the shop is gonna screw you. Time. Of course I am basing this all on the 3rd Gen so I could way way off on the 2nd Gen.

I would suggest 4WP but you might find that a place like this won't install parts you take to them. I could be completely wrong though. It's worth calling and asking if they do, or even riding down to Glen Burnie and casually strolling up to one of the mechanics and asking them if they can recommend a place.

I use to drive from Va Beach to Highlandtown in Baltimore on the weekends to see my family. It was a 4.5 hr drive I would do sometimes do in under 3 hours. At the time I was driving a 1975 Cadillac Eldorado with a 441 ci engine. You could see the gas needle moving on those stretches of 301 I had the pedal to the floor. Now with the dogs in the back of the cab of the truck you would think I was a retiree taking a load of nitro into town. Long distance though, not for me. Not without a real bed to lay down on at the end of the day.

Yea, he’s actually somewhere called Clear Springs? I believe he’s like 10min west of Hagerstown. But I’ll be out that way on the 29th! Hopefully riding about 2.5” taller on the way home!

I got excited! I'm too short for checking it out in the vanity mirror and expected some skin!

It hasn't changed much since then except for the BCoFD slap on it too now.
