Mine is really Lunar, yes. I ended up not adding the truck to the app. From everything I read, connecting the services will start the WIFI connect as soon as I click agree. I don't want to start it yet (before I get the truck) because we actually want to test it out for 90 days and see if we like it. It's says "in transit" on the dealer website. I bet I will see it in the 20's of January. I will share pictures day of. May be the first with a '22 Lunar TE on the planet! Haha.

My dealer made me set the app up yesterday when I went in to finalize the deal. The stupid part was, we didn't even get to finance after 2.5 hours. I have to go back in when the truck arrives...so dumb.

Anyways, I said what if I don't want to set it up? They asked me nicely to please do it then, I know I'm gonna cancel that stuff so I guess it's kinda fun to see if anything pops up on the app. At least I'll know when the wheels are on and they test drive it...

Dude, congrats, I really think it has to be the first if not one of them, I haven't seen anyone else with a build that early for Lunar...they've all been Army Green. The funny thing is, where are our Super White and Black brethren? Haven't seen anyone comment here with those colors, if I'm not mistaken.

Funny how almost all the TEs popping up in allocations are Army Green. I wonder if orders were majority for that color so that is what Toyota is building most? I've seen a few lunar rocks as well, but yeah no white or black.

I'm not sure anyone is ordering anything, I think Toyota is just doing what they want, no? Because by that logic, we'd see a ton of the exclusive color for that year when it comes to TRD Pro's; I feel like it would be like 75% exclusive/25% not if people got to choose.

    https://youtu.be/dT1BWDsf90U?t=124

Here's a great video that explains how Toyota builds (timestamped). They just build them randomly based on what is ordered, rather than in color batches like a Ford. So I guess it's possible you are right, in that AG and LR were more heavily ordered so they're building them now. I would assume White would be the least common color for the trail.

Yeah I understand they don't really build anything to order. But people still put in their order and the dealer tries to get as close as they can with what is allocated. From my understanding, the dealer still sends your "order" to Toyota, but I think this is just to help give them an idea of what people are wanting? I watched that video last month and it was very informative!

I honestly have no clue what happens anymore. All my dealers in the GST region basically said, "We have zero clue what we are going to get. Toyota send us bi-weekly allocations of vehicles and we are just happy to get whatever. There's nothing we can do to help you get what you want, no one will trade these days anymore because why would they? It'll pre-sell anyways. So just stay patient and hope we get something you want."

However, my dealer also was willing to remove port options, which many refuse to do. It's so confusing these days. I think your description is accurate for pre-covid. Like, how they can run it up the chain to the Distributor and see if they can influence what they receive under normal circumstances. I bet most of the time they used to just trade for it.

I have a Black TE in transit with a delivery estimate of 1/19-1/24. With as many delays as it had with the build, I wouldn't be surprised if the delivery date is delayed as well. I'm not quite convinced the truck actually exists yet either, but I do have a vin.

Temp VIN or real one? Because if it's real, then it's built and on the way I'd think! The only thing that could delay it is like weather events or port install stuff. Assumptions, of course

Did you order it through the dealer? Or manufacture?

Update: It's been fueled up and driven for 6 miles! I am gonna do my best to keep track of how long each stage takes for you guys so you can know a better estimate of build to deliver. This is after only one day after VIN change.

None of the 22 Trail Edition parts seem to be available for purchase yet. I'm sure as more of these vehicles get made, dealers will have to start getting in some of these replacement parts though.

No fog lights, that's just a toyota rendering, notice it also has the chin spoiler.

Also, the Trail doesn't come with fogs due to it having a factory lift (DOT rules), however in some regions they are offering them as an additional package (similar placement to PROs I'd assume).

Assuming since based off an SR5, no fogs standard. I personally never use my fogs so I don't mind.

Oh - well then, they wanted to upsell what I assume were more custom Fogs since they had to build them specifically for a factory lifted SR5...oh well.
