For the raptor and TRX they are due to regulations for the width of the trucks.

If you don't have a wide ass truck and have those lights you're just a wannabe

 

Does the Hilux share the same 5-speed auto A750 transmission?

As of last week, I asked my friend that lives there, and he said he has the A750 as well. Whichever the 4x4 version is.

 

Technically, they are illegal as well.

 

The raptor lights?

 

Yes.

They are actually clearance lights - the same light pattern you see across the top of semi-truck box trailers. Needed for I believe over 7 feet in width. The rear of the vehicle has red lights, the front amber.

So, if a truck is under 7 feet, the lights are not needed. The lights in the middle (without the lights on each side of the vehicle) are meaningless. And, the kicker, you are not allowed to have extra meaningless lights (turned on) on the vehicle while driving. You are allowed headlights, turn signal indicators, and ONE set of fog lights.

Some states are very particular about that - Cali for one. Many years ago, someone I know got a ticket for too many lights - and they were not on, only uncovered.

i run underbody lighting on all streets and highways.
never had an issue with the law. i looked up the RCW code, it is legal. theyre supposed to be amber but mine are difused white. one per corner, indirect aim, no flashing or strobe. saved me many times from being side swiped. and.....i think theyre cool. raptor lights not so much.

 

I truly don’t get it. Most people don’t even care enough to obey vehicular laws but when it comes to adding Raptor lights that the truck requires by law, everyone goes crazy. If I had a Raptor or TRX I’d probably contemplate removing the lights or unplugging them.

 

Meh makes people move out of the left lane lol

 

Was anybody ever able to get the new design Ripp coil packs? They originally canceled my order back in November and they’ve been out of stock ever since the new ones dropped. Just curious.

 

No one has but they left a post in December that they were wrapping up testing or something of that order. so sometime this year. Didn’t seem soon though
