    stumbled upon this thread
    last 2 posts I saw mentioned AK's being $800

    Why?
    S&W MP AR was like $400-500 pre-COVID.

therefore shouldn't AK's cost the same or less given their reputation of being old, simple, common, less popular than the AR platform, and "less accurate"?

none of us purposely buy the ak platform for its accuracy

we purposely buy them because we want old simple common

I put it in quotes because supposedly it is accurate at distance if you know how to use it
but that was not the question is why does something that is "old simple common" costing twice more than an AR

i think the history and collectors aspect plays a big role with the ak market
no more imports so whatever we have being traded is what it is at that moment
unlike the ever growing ar platform market we have

Relentless Stealth front + Relentless standard rear plate bumpers w/ D2 cutouts, 2x Rigid D2 floods front + 2x Rigid flush D2 floods rear, BAMF behind-the-grille light bar mount w/ 2x Rigid 6" bar floods, KING coilovers/springs + rear adjuster shocks, Deaver leaf springs, Total Chaos UCAs, BAMF rock sliders, BAMF LCA skids, Relentless front skid, Low-Range Off-Road gas tank skid, Marlin differential plate cover, Marlin E-Locker motor guard, Hawke HD brake pads, Trail Gear steel brake line kit, Marlin HD full clutch assembly, deckplate intake mod + AFE high flow filter, ARB CKMA12, exhaust dumped over rear axle, 32/11.5r15 Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT, American Racing Baja 15x8, Viper alarm + fuel cutoff switch, and more Toyota OEM parts + replacements than I care to list
Supply and demand, simple as that. AR manufacturers are dime a dozen so they’re able to price much more competitively, while there’s a limited number of companies manufacturing AKs/parts etc. not to mention 922r compliance policies driving prices up.

I’m looking to get a 100 series AK and came across this:rofl:

Any opinions on KUSA? They seem to be getting a good reputation, wonder how they stack up against Arsenal

They are talked about a lot on the ak47 subreddit, good things though. Haven't fired one myself.

    I'd love a KP9 though!

They say fit and finish is on par with Saigas. I had a KR103sfs I just sold bnib and compared to my 5.45 saiga it was identical except for the paint. The KUSA is more grey. Definitely will be buying another in the future.

ALG makes them like once a year so finding one is either aftermarket or getting lucky from ALG. Haven’t seen a drop in a while so probably going to be about spring time if you do see it

Ordered a variety of mags and an Attero mount for an HS510.

I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for an RS mount.
