Sure was cold yesterday up in the trees with that subzero windchill. Tried to get a selfie all bundled up with a view of the frozen lake behind me, but the camera wouldn't work in the cold. Hoping today today's forecast of 34° is accurate. That will feel downright pleasant.

did a heli ride years back and the pilot simulated an engine failure to show us how autorotation works….you’d be amazed at how effective it was to slow the aircraft to “safe” crashing speeds

 

They're probably hauling the chopper off to a secure location right now so they can go over it...

2-month old patient basically unharmed; One hell of a pilot!

 

Strategically positioning my truck on the ice in the parking lot at work, and then engaging the Auto-LSD (which by default deactivates the traction control) in order to spin the back tires was fun for about a day, but then it got old when I actually needed to park the truck and I couldn't get any traction...

 

It not supposed to get out of the 40s for the rest of the week, it's going to be less than 25 degrees on Saturday for the high, and we've likely got snow coming on Sunday; I wanted this ice gone!

 

Here's to hoping I get to use the new blower of snow again this weekend!

 

Garage door is fixed!! Reset the torsion spring? So that sounds like he rewound the spring ? Oh well I'm glad I can park Inside . I am $100 lighter.

 

Wow No fire !! Did the Chopper run out of fuel ?

No emergency radio calls that were mentioned .

I wondered the same thing , what made it crash ?

 

They said that it had an hour's worth of fuel when it crashed.

 

They just pulled it about 30min ago, looks gnarly. If you find the photo of the crew member climbing out with the baby in their arms, look at the bottom of the picture. You can see the fuel pouring out. I missed the interview with the pilots dad(also a helo pilot). But I did catch a picture, I think one of the blessings is that most if not every life flight pilot I’ve met, was previously an active duty military pilot, including this one I believe.
