Ha, the "excitement" has already started. It's crazy how the weather and a pandemic give zero f@ks about our wedding. Rude, if I'm honest.

I'll put out the call when it's time to pull and re-install the body, don't you worry. I might have already been communicating with some speedybois regarding a possible 5.3 LS (probably an LM7 if I can't find an aluminum block 5.3)... you know, if needed. I am still looking at options for everything. This truck might turn out to be just a really nice body and needing a whole powertrain and suspension + frame, or it might be ready to roll onto a trailer with some fresher tires. I'm not getting my hopes up quite yet.

The key to yota longevity is less power, not more.

THAT being said..... Putting 400 ponies into a taco....

Oh, it's not for my Taco. It's for one of these:

The old guy with the truck wants to give it to me as a wedding gift so long as I help him get it out from under a collapsed barn.

And I've been assured it's easy peasy to go over 400 with the 5.3. You can do 400 with an LS6 cam and some bolt ons.

If you need extra labor, let me know.

Also, if the frame is rotten apparently you can swap Willys bodies onto S10 frames without too much grief. Friend of mine did that and said it wasn't the worst...

Omix-ada has new frames for pretty much every Jeep (Kaiser/AMC) ever made.

Fair point. You can practically build an entire Jeep out of their catalog, sans drive train

So MO Gang, what's the plans for this year? Can we slap together an itinerary of all the planned trips so schmucks like me can decide if the stars align for any of them? Maybe I'll adjust one of page 1's posts to have a rotating schedule by year with group pictures. :headbang:
My new years resolution is at least an entire week of Camping/Wheeling/Dirt Therapy trip sometime in 2022.
My wallet will be flat empty this year so the cheaper the trip, the better. Day trips are also welcomed, but I want a nice long get away sometime especially since I start accruing an extra week of vacation each year starting in May.
Also @CygnusX191 Am I still to be expecting you this weekend? I'll send you my address. :fistbump:

If the frame is unsalvageable, I'd like to get a rolled and totalled 4 door JK and just drop it on that whole frame and suspension. In reality, I'll probably do the S-10 route or something similar.

As with all things, we'll see

Good to know, I'm new to the flat fender realm.

I'm definitely in. I'd be hella down for an AR or TN trip. I'll scope out what you put up and respond accordingly lol

Gladiator's with dealer temp tags to completely jacked out MJs on 40s to a 1980 Hilux and everything in between. Had a Hilander show up once, that was hilarious/extremely annoying. Dude owns an 80 series now.
