Damn that's nice to know. All these FN buttons now days. Yes I'm old. Totalled my 2015 Sport a month back and after insurance settlement it only cost me 5 k to get a 2020 OR with 25k on it. I have a question, I can't figure out my lane departure shit. I have it turned on and the highest sensitivity but it doesn't do anything, not even a beep. My wife's 2021 Rav 4 will keep you within the lines on road. Am I missing something ? Only have 2k left on factory warranty so if I need to take it in nows the time.

I have no idea about the lane departure stuff. I drive a second gen taco and a 3rd gen 4runner. As far as I know you dont have any self driving capabilities in the 3rd gen. So it will just beep at you and tell you to pay attention. It aint a Tesla. No nap times while driving haha

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
Rav4 has steering assist so it will coax you back in line. Taco only beeps and flashes the display between the gauges. In that same display unit, controlled by the right hand cross on the steering wheel, you can get into the set up of the sensors and change some parameters. IIRC, you can cancel or activate the sound. Also, it's in the manual, too.

Thanks for all the input. I am eager to see how this thing does. Sold my F350 for more than I paid for it new, so I bought this 2013 with high millage for not much money for fishing season at the Outer Banks. I will play with the settings, but will likely "long press" when I hit the beach.

Pretty sure you can turn it off when you're moving. I've used the button fairly often when out offroading.

if an '08 has no RSCA button,
does that mean it has no side curtain airbags?
    Or no roll sensor?

(The squiggly line button). push it and it cuts off engine regulation and gives a stronger limited slip.hold it for a 3second push and it cuts everything off for open differental. so you can get jiggy with it as one other post said.

The three second hold has to happen when you're not moving.

Not entirely true. 3rd Gen will automatically brake for you if it detects that a crash is imminent. They also use radar to provide dynamic cruise control. Pretty nice features, actually.

Not quite self driving but about as close as I'd want in my vehicle. $0.02 of opinion

Oh good to know. Never have driven one and no urge to so haven't paid attention to the features offered. But yes like you said that would be the extent I would really want in my truck.

So I wish I’d had learned about the long hold earlier!
Even with the first push and release it piss’s and moans about playing in the snow.
Being brake assisted lsd does the long hold have lsd or are we single tire fire?
Snow this weekend so I’ll test it out.
My 08 was open diff fun but not great in winter without 4 wheel engaged.

The long hold (while stopped) turns off everything... makes the truck the same as your '08 without traction or stability controls. I had an '05 and then got the '10 with all these great additions. Now my truck does more with less effort. Spinning donuts is the only reason for the long hold (VSC OFF), silly as that is.

I agree the truck is very stable with the nanny features on.
They have definitely kept it in check on crappy chit.
