All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Picked up a new to me 2013 Gibson es335. Made in Memphis.

That thing looks like it wants to be played! I only have acoustics and when I saw a video of John Mayer playing the Epiphone Casino (similar to your es335), I can't get that tone out of my head. Maybe I'll convert one day......

(Around 6:00 is more or less the solo that made the final recording)

Semi hollow bodies may be the holy grail of guitars. Everyone should own one.

I'm going to tell my wife you said I need to own one - any of her concerns or problems need to be taken up with you.

I was informed that this was the guitar thread where everyone was at, so just adding me couple that I own. Ibanez Gio, Washburn Dime 333 and Jackson JS32 RR. All are as they come from the factory, aside from the Washburn that I had a tech guy work the fretboard and whatnot a while back. I sort of want to upgrade it to the SD Dime pickups, but a friend told me to upgrade the Jackson instead. So I'm not sure what I'll do. Any suggestions? I kind of just want to get a new guitar in general, like a Legator JD6 or N6X but it's a lot to invest, when I'm not that great of a player lol. So thought maybe I could satisfy the urge for something new with an upgrade to 1 of the ones that I currently own.

What part of it are you wanting to upgrade? Tuners, pick ups, tremolo?

I would say on both guitars the pickups would probably be the area that would make the most sense. I mostly play metal, so always looking to get heavier. They each have a licensed Floyd Rose (under their own name,) which isn't terrible but I realize also not the best. But they haven't given me issues.

I'm not too knowledgeable on all pick ups, passive or active or both in one. I've been a fan of EMG's personally and have them in all of mine. Been toying with swapping to Fluence, but people here with more experience can help out with that. I'm just narrow minded in that field.

Ah, the Licensed floyd, I had one on a Jackson Warrior... damn over a decade ago. It's good for with it is, I was just lazy and wanted a more simple set up so I sold it.

I've owned 4-5 Deans. DimeOflage, Dime camo, ML and baby ML.
I upgraded the Dean Dime Camo to the SD Dime 59 set and it really took the sound up a couple notches.

Ya I hear you. If I do get a Legator or something else, I was going to go that route to not have the Floyd Rose this time. And also, those come with the modern style pick-ups (which I think require a battery.) Just be cool to try something different, but it's a lot to drop.

Looks amazing. And yes, that was the set-up I was looking at.

Off monday for holiday so I'm taking today off for a nice long weekend. With 6-8" snow/ice coming sunday, I figured it would be a good weekend to start another studio project. Maybe do something simple stupid to ease back in.
What's everyone elses plans for the weekend?

Was going to hang out with a group of friends, but got a sick fiancee, so probably won't make it to that. Do some stuff around the house , wash the truck.
