BTW, about fps. Please don't become a spray-and-pray kind of shooter!

Two reasons. One, learn your sport/subject and know when to click--sure a few frames is good and the extra buffer allows you to capture several bursts w/o worry. Two, if you go to an event and do the spray-and-pray, I guarantee it will take you for-f-ing-ever to sort through the take.

I once was shooting surf and the guy next to me just held the button down--it was impressive. As we were leaving, I asked how many frames he shot. He looked down and the number was in the thousands (over several cards). We'd only been there for a few hours--man, how do you deal with that volume of data?

Definitely not a spray and pray shooter. I like to look for things, I see something that catches my eye and I play around with it, different angles, settings etc. I'm a landscape, stationary object, close up type of photographer. I have never shot sporting event or any type of activity.

Just a few more I've taken over the years. That last one and the boat night shot are I think my 2 best shots I've taken.

If you're working with a rider, pre-arrange the spots you'll be shooting. As I said, short bursts aren't bad but holding the shutter down and praying for a result isn't the most efficient or effective method.

apparently #2 is WAY sharper. i also noticed that the 14-24 has LESS distortion and has no color fringing as the kit lens is terrible with distortion, color fringe, and sharpness.

BUT in reality. will you really notice it in every day shooting? probably not. but i wouldnt buy the 14-24 for DX anyways.

oh and i DID NOT use a flash

Awaiting my recently ordered lens. Super excited. I know it isn't of quality that you guys can spend but on my budget I think it will do for now!

It's a Tamron 75-300. Needed it for shooting at basketball games. I'm sure I'll use it for other things.

Anything review wise about Tamron? Is it a good brand or cheap brand? I mean I picked it up slightly used for $100 so not sure what to think there.

seems to be okay just from the reviews, and no tamron is not a "cheap" brand. You probably should have just saved up for the canon 55-250 is though!:D
