For those with the V2 camper, can someone send me the dimensions of the white honeycomb roof? I am going to be ordering some vinyl to wrap the roof of the tent after my install. Thanks in advance!

 

i thought i read on one of the forums somewhere that there was a shop on the east coast that was doing work etc for them. of course damned if i cant find that now......

 

Hello all,

I recently got the chance to measure a GFC v2 to fit a MOLLE panel system and this is the 1st revision CAD panel.

I am trying to gauge how much interest there would be for a group buy.

My ESTIMATE on cost is $265 +/- $30 (this includes hardware and shipping to the lower 48)
Price depending on inflated covid metal pricing and how many go in on the group buy.

Does anyone make something like this for the v1?

 

If anyone has a V1 I can measure in southern California (santa ana) I can make one for that too!

 

If nobody has one that you can measure, i should be down in socal in a few months and you can measure my v1.

 

Have you thought about using the Hex-grid pattern? Gives you more versatility. I have done this in the past with our plasma cutter.

I haven't seen a hex grid before. Do you have any pictures of what it looks like or dimensions?

Enables you to place things running at an show as well.

 

I'll have to look I to this and check if the MOLLE pouches will fit as well

 

My Molly picked work with them. I was in the tactical gear supply shop and ran across a 5.11 panel.
I thought that looks interesting, then played around with it in the shop for a minute. Went back and made some dog barriers for my truck using the same pattern. Worked out nicely.

 

I like the design and think it is one of the better mounting accessory options I have seen. That being said, I would be on the fence and may look at other options first due to cost. I know things have gotten crazy with COVID, but for me personally I could live with a cheaper, less clean option.

I am sure there would be a good market for the product though. If you haven’t you should also post to the GFC Forum.

 

That pricing is crazy to me. I would look at a Roofnest ladder with their mounting brackets or another brand first. Just need some T Nuts for the GFC to mount their bracket. Probably save $100 or more.

I've been doing a bunch of research on sealing the truck bed before the GFC install, and would folks recommend just using Permatex / black silicone and waterproof duct tape for sealing up holes in the bed and bed rails?

Thank you! I watched that already, and it's super helpful. Hoping to find reference photos for before/after sealing, too!

 

Im not super concerned about water/dirt getting into the bed. But I pulled my rails and put tape down. Also tried to add silicone in the front corners. Its not going to be 100% waterproof, but I guess its better than before.

I also wont be hanging out down there, reasoning behind not really worrying about the cubbies etc. I did what I can, but its a truck bed, its not meant to be clean
