Leftover Factory ... Sticker?

Just came home with a 22 Tacoma OR and discovered this on the driver's side door. It appears to be some sort of sticker (?) and it clearly came from the factory or in the 24 hours that it sat at the dealer. Doesn't come off with a quick "thumbnail inspection." Any idea what it is? Any idea how to get rid of it? Should I whine to Toyota?

 

If you have a buffer/polisher you could buff that area, looks like it'd come off without too much effort. Otherwise yeah just go back to the dealer and they should take care of it.

 

Whiners suck, so no, dont do that. I bet you could figure out a way to remove it if you searched on "sticker removal" or went beyond the fingernail inspection stage.

I didn't mean "whine" in the literal sense. I guess "ask them about it" would've aggravated you less @xndak ? FWIW, you might try eating a cookie or maybe take a nap. That always helps me.

This is a very small thing. It doesn't really bother me. I've owned some serious POS cars in my past. This is more in the 'Hm. That's kinda weird.' category.

 

It'a "clear" wrap to protect the paint during shipping.
It says "dealer to remove" or something like that.

 

Toyota says this is normal.

 

Time to bust out the cleaner wax. Looks like leftover ink from some shipping sticker. Hardly ever said in the literal sense on TW but it WILL buff out.

Turtle wax makes a citrus sticker remover. Spray on, wait a few minutes and wipe it off. If that doesn’t work you can find plastic “razor blades” at ace or Home Depot to carefully take it off after spraying it again.
