I upgraded my SR5 stock tires to LT Coopers 265/75/16 and they look great, perform great, but the MPG hit is painful. Probably worse for me than most because I also have a GFC, which dropped my highway MPG by 1.5 on the stock tires.

But luckily I work from home so my DD needs are the 2 miles to the grocery store.

My sr5 came with these all season 245/75 16's. The 265/70's put a bit more rubber on the road. I like them better in snow, and on dirt roads. Never gave the firestone all season's a chance, but they just didn't look very aggressive to me for winter use on my roads.

Well the good news is with the 245 tires you get better millage . When I first got my sr5 it was around 20 combo with 24.5 highway.

running BFG km3 265/75r16 now and the millage is 17/21 . Obviously perfect off road tire with no rub

Yeah they fit fine on the stock suspension.
Drove them hundreds of miles off pavement in Death Valley and no rubbing.

No one mentioned 255/85/r16 yet, but they fit most stock trucks depending on alignment numbers.

The upper and lower control arms are stock length (camburg) so the stock geometry / clearance is the same. Everything cycles just like stock, no rubbing as the suspension cycles or with turning

I love the 235/85 16 Falken skinnies on my SR5. But e rated so they are stiff. I get a lot of snow so I like the narrow width and sidewall grip

Just replaced the stock tires on my SR5 with these Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws. I went with the 245/75/16s, but now wondering if I should have gotten 265s. Everything on my vehicle is stock, but i’ve been leasing for 3 years and buying it out so now it is truly ‘mine’. Does this tire size look alright on the SR5 or should I try to swap for the 265s?

Looks badass. Did you do a 2 inch level in the front? What wheel and tire is this?

I am kind of obsessed with MPG so I put the lightest E-load tire I could find on my 2.7 SR 4x4, in the stock 245/75-16 size: Firestone Destination X/T. They weigh 39 lbs and I only lost about 1 MPG on the highway (like from 26 to 25 MPG at 65-70 MPH). They look substantial/beefy enough, IMO and were plenty capable on a bunch of easy/moderate rocky passes in Colorado.

Found out that if you don’t tow or haul a lot of weight, you dont need E rating. SL would be fine and remove added weight and help MPG
    Looks good though
