If they go through the effort to steal my truck they can have it. With the way the used market is I’ll be abe to use the insurance money to buy 2 new tundras, build a 1st gen tacoma and pay off my mortgage :blahblah:

After torquing it down, cleaning up, multiple warm up drive around cool down and repeat procedures I checked oil cooler again. Dry as it can be. Problem fixed and Tacoma continues to be trouble free (it may have possible been some anti corrosion fluid too :anonymous:)

The Milwaukee being 2/3 the length of the other two is reason enough to get it. I got the M12 version (same 250 ft-lb torque) to be able to use an even smaller battery.

Ar first I was a little bummed that the M/T's still got a key start....

Now that it adds some slight delay to a thief I feel a little better.

Nothing will stop a professional if they really want it,
you just have to make it more efficient for them to go after the next person.
Not personal, just business in their minds.

If they are not using a "man in the middle" attack reading and relaying fobs to initially get in,
then someone is accessing/hacked the denso or techstream systems and got the fob ID# database to cross reference it by VIN.

Steel tin to store your keys in is the easiest protection for the first.
In theory changing out you key fob and using offline techstream to program new ones (not at a dealer) would fix that second issue.
key fobs use two different IDs, one for far ID and one for passive (when you have to hold the fob to the button when you start with dead fob battery or in the manual key for the immobilizer)

Then you'd have to move and hide the obdii port on the truck, maybe setup a dummy one to keep them fiddling a little longer and give up without searching for the real one.

Then if they had the database the M/T guys would have to change their tumblers....

But then you won't stop the guys with the tow trucks and flat beds.

Well unless alarms and guard dogs...

    But then....

Fook it, lock it and make sure my insurance is paid up.

Officer "why do you keep a baseball bat by the front door?"
Me: "Oh it's part of the Alarm system"
Officer "oh really, how does that work exactly?"
Me: "Well, hmmmm, it makes this clunking sound every time someone gets too close to my truck"

Pro tip: keep a baseball glove next to the bat to avoid questions by police  Also works for in-vehicle carry.

Glad your oil filter housing is dry....

But is your oil cooler still leaking?

Or am I not keeping up with what has been screwed up?
You do tend to break a lot of things, maybe I fell off my pencil while taking notes?

He is going to blow it up because he didn’t fix something and then blame toyota for shitty design. Pretty typical….

I have a feeling someone is warming up a welder to weld up some more penis' on repair welds on a certain someone's frame.

Every Coffee and greet we will be combing his truck for the phallus finding "easter eggs" to track his repairs and modifications.

You know every club needs a tradition. Some will get the Phallus Valve Stem. others will get the Phallus frame.

Your never gonna get married if you don't know what bits can fit where...

Is that why you were complaining that your last girlfriend got mad, hissed at you and flew out the window in a big huff.
And you needed that tire repair kit from @tacoma16 to go patch up your relationship?

I live in the bush and when my truck sits in the drive shed that is quite a distance from the house I use the club to deter. I say get one @19Canuck  No chip in my key so no worries there. I can get keys cut easily if I can find blanks. Original key is so worn it won’t turn the ignition anymore. Last time I got keys cut it was under $25 for six at an old fashion hardware store. In two weeks I will be in my new house with an attached garage so I will worry less about the taco.
