I'm not familiar with the oil you mentioned but it sounds like the LSD additive is already in that oil.

They are going to plug into the fuse box under your hood. there is a 7amp fuse that you will need to pull out and replace with the voltage booster. It also will be specific in the way that you put it in. a regular fuse works both ways whether you put it into the fuse holder because it tis there to complete a circuit, the booster will need to be put into the fuse holder in the correct manner for it to work correctly and do what it is supposed to do to "trick" the system. I put mine In one way without reading the directions first and when I started the truck, I wasn't seeing any change in the voltage, but then I read the directions, and shut off the truck, got out, pulled out the booster, turned it around, got back in, started the truck again, and it worked. The directions will state exactly which views to pull out and replace the booster with.

The diode messes with the alternator voltage sensing circuit, which in turn tells the ECU "hey, I'm not getting enough juice" - so then your alternator fires up another half a volt into the system and voila, you get AGM charging range. But it absolutely needs to be oriented correctly since diodes only flow in one direction. If you have a voltmeter, you'll know pretty quick.

The biggest concern I have with this trick is the additional heat build-up - there have been reports of alternators dying using this, but they're few, anecdotal, and I have no details on mileage on the parts before failure. So you could be shortening part life by 50% or 5%, no idea.

You are 100% correct. And in doing my research on this before I chose to "pull the trigger" I realized this as well. After talking with a number of people that did have it done on theirs, and Weighing the overall pros and cons, I still moved forward with it And have not had any issues. Can something possibly arise in the future that can become a bigger problem? Yes. But I think that can be said about a lot of the things that we choose to do with our vehicles to modify them. The only overall reason why I chose to be able to do it, is if I'm going to be spending that much on a AGM battery to get the full benefit out of it, I also want to make it last. Will the AGM battery still work on any type of vehicle without this booster? Most certainly yes. Will the battery life be shortened because of the lack of voltage being fed to it like it is supposed to be, I do not have any personal data that says that it will fail early, but I did mine as more of a insurance policy on the battery itself.

Yea, that's exactly what I'm saying too. Anecdotes aren't enough to deter someone. There's not enough failure reports to call it a risk. Alternatively people could just run a charger on it once in awhile, in AGM mode, it would do all the work for you. You would probably need to run it once a month, longer if you're not using your truck as often.
