Bought a Tacoma in April, last new Toyota was a HiLux 45 years ago, my how they have changed. !
Recently I had it at the dealer for a LOF and to disable the PCS and the DRCC. In the process the dealer has deleted the "constant speed" cruise control and is now telling me that is the way it is!

I didn't plan on this and I think they made a mistake and dont know what they are doing...!

From what I have read the constant speed cruise should still work. What do you guys know?

Rather than pressing and releasing the cruise control button to turn it on, press and hold.

Ask the dealer to re-instate what they turned off? Maybe regular CC can’t exist without radar CC? Not that big of a deal to just bypass radar CC with a long press.

The dealer is claiming its akin to reversing a vasectomy. Talking like they would need to replace the millimeter radar... . Big bucks. The big question here if the PCS is deleted, does that disable the constant speed control? Anyone know?

You can't reverse it without replacing the radar unit. Period.

OP is refering to radar cruise, not standard cruise.

I get that, is it normal to lose constant speed cruise control as well?

Radar is disabled, therefor radar cruise is disabled.

The question remains, does the deletion of radar cruise also delete constant cruise control? That is the only question, if you know the answer great, if you are only going to repeat yourself, dont bother.

This makes no sense. Your Tacoma is a 21, meaning it comes standard with radar cruise control. Why would a Toyota dealer delete this from your truck? OEM dealers do not void their own warranty.

Unfortunately yes. I found this out the hard way. I had the dealership disable the TSS because it drove me crazy with the clean sensor messages when I Offroad it in the desert (which is almost every weekend these days). Once I had it done, no more messages, but you do get the constant amber light in the dash.

I then went on a road trip and tried to use cruise control. No dice. I found a thread on here that stated constant cruise control should still work. It didn't and dealership didn't have a solution other than buying a new sensor and recalibrating everything. Really sucks.

Mine is a 20 and they were happy to take $150 from me and disable the TSS sensor and make me sign a waiver doing it. In retrospect it was a bad move on my part.

Its a ridiculous nanny on a pickup truck for chrissakes.! I never asked for such nonsense and in fact queried the salesman about autonomous interference when I bought it and was assured it could be disabled w/o having to do so every time you get in the vehicle. Just because they can do this crap doesn't mean they should and the reality is the salesman didn't know how this stuff worked. Not my fault they didn't train him. I am just the lowly customer

Can't really expect a salesman to be able to answer a question like that tbh. In my experience their knowledge usually ends at which option packages get you a sunroof and which ones don't.

Unfortunate situation for your new truck though.
