So Im a middle aged suburban fella. I want input on what brand exhaust fits that guy. I would like to hear the taco Engine a bit more. But I'm also not looking to be 23 again driving around screaming look at me!

Lets talk middle aged, Suburban, kinda wanna be cool, father of 2, best option for a bit better sound from the taco!

Middle aged guy with one kid and one on the way here. I run the Borla exhaust and an Injen intake on my '21. Should be just about what you're looking for. The intake can get a tad loud when towing or going WOT, but I don't do either enough for it to be a problem.

I would suggest a TRD exhaust. Bit louder, nice tone and definitely nothing crazy.

    Edit: Bit not but..

I have the TRD. It's a touch louder than I'd like but I think it's the best all around option for our trucks.

This. I’m all for loud, but a mid-sized pickup isn’t something I want to be loud. If something like the TRD intake gives a little more roar when the throttle is really opened up, cool, but otherwise, ehhh.

My Vette has an axle back to make it a little more rumbly. Once prices of used cars drop I’ll probably get a WRX or other hot hatch and make that a little rumbly, but a truck is a strong ehhh from me.

    EDIT:

For the record my old STi was loud enough to be heard a quarter mile away when I was at WOT so I’m not anti-loud, I just don’t “get” it for the Tacoma.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Had this on my '06 TRD OR. Still going strong when I sold it after 15 years. I have it on my '21 TRD OR. Under light acceleration it's reasonably quiet, but when you give heavy throttle it'll sound off. I actually went with it on my '21 more for durability (all stainless steel) than for sound. But I do enjoy the sound.
Edit: BTW, I'm well past middle age ...

I'm the same... I have a Mustang with an OR x pipe and magnaflow catback. It sounds good but only because I drive it when I want. Wouldn't want to DD.

I bought my truck new off the lot and it had the TRD exhaust installed at the port. I only get it because it was already on the truck. Wouldn't have gone out and bought it.

Sub'd for this one. Considering Borla Pro XS muffler, but still not convinced. Youtube only helps so much, and haven't had the opportunity to hear one locally.

My loud muffler days are long behind me.
It will never sound like a V8 no matter what you do. I vote for stock.

Mine is stock and I am over middle age and I think it is loud enough for me when I boot it lol but quiet enough not to wake the wife up when I am taking off somewhere without her noticing that I am gone.
