Talked to her today...Insurance company wants to settle already. I guess they have no faith in law enforcement!! She's been offered about 2 k more than she paid for it...proving that these trucks really hold there value.
I thought they would sit on their hands for 30 days and wait for it to surface ( in Kuwait Lmao) then the fight for a settlement value begins...wrong!

"Prices start at ¥7,317,000" Toyota probably figured there aren't enough buyers here willing to pay $81K Canadian (~$95K out the door) for a Yaris... even if it makes 4Runner horsepower :p

The problem is, it MUST be sold by Toyota Mexico to be allow for import, same applies for LC200s, it creates actually an interesting effect, LC200s sold in Mexico is more or less same spec as in the US, but to bring a Mexican spec into US, you have to federalize it, so you can find a decent pre-facelift LC200 for less than 20k, where we can import them directly, problem is finding someone reliable to handle money and export, the website I've been using to browse is https://www.segundamano.mx/ , aka Mexican Kijiji, there's also semi nuevo.

The video is mostly true when you compare the official specs:
    https://toyota-cms-media.s3.amazona...02/2021_Toyota_Tundra_Product_Information.pdf
    https://toyota-cms-media.s3.amazona..._Tundra_Product_Information_11_5_21_FINAL.pdf

For the double cab short bed config, the 2022 Tundra has 4.6 ft wider turning circle. That may be caused by the electric power steering rack having a shorter stroke (3.4 turns instead of 3.71). I guess when Lexus publishes the LX600 specs, we'll be able to compare the steering numbers against the 2021 Land Cruiser to see if the electric rack is to blame.

The inside bed width is 7.7 in. narrower due to the composite bed being unable to protrude into the outer bedsides.

Was the insurance co. paying for a rental car? Usually that's incentive for them to move faster on her claim.

As a prerequisite of getting the settlement cheque, she has to mail the ownership to the insurance co. first. The insurance co. therefore owns the vehicle if it's recovered, in whatever shape it's recovered in (not always roadworthy).

Cash in hand as we speak 2022 secured in Cambridge. No ownership required. How could you provide it if it isn't there? Never heard of that.
The old "buy back" after its found routine is long gone.

Not bad a bad end to the week for your friend. Hopefully she didn’t have too many personal items stolen along with the Taco.

A few things...she'll have to eat. Tie down straps and a tow strap...nothing serious. She made the best of a bad situation.
