Double clutching it doesn't matter. It still acts like it's binding to go into gear.

I almost wonder if you broke the shift fork inside the trans then.

Hopefully not broke. Cause I have never forced it just because of that. But it might be bent alittle. It's either that or the synchros. Im thinking synchros, because when it does it , it seems like it's getting a little harder to get into second gear also now. My big problem is that this is my only ride and I drive over a hundred miles to work. And it's just a matter of time till I have to pull it. I can pull it and put it back in in a day, but finding someone around here that will tear it apart and put it back together is a different issue. And finding a used r150f is like finding a unicorn in this part of the country. I do have a 91 that I just rebuilt, but it don't have a title. I can pull the trans out of it and swap the bell mounts and use it in a pinch, so I'm not freaking out too bad right now. I just that I don't have the funds to have anything fixed right now and I'm hoping that it will last me another six months or a year until I can have the time and money to get it worked on. And I'm afraid that asking alot of it since I put a thousand miles a week on it. Maybe if it is just a bent fork, I can keep babying it and it will keep on lasting.Prayers!

I guess pedal bracket inside the cab is the correct nomenclature. It had a 96 t100 that kept breaking at the peddle where the bracket had a pivot point. It would drive fine but it was impossible to get it into the first unless I came to a complete stop.

Yes I replaced the bushing under the shift lever. Got one from marlin crawler. That was the first thing I did. But I haven't replaced the little piece on the bottom of the stick that goes around that little ball. It is worn, but doesn't look too bad. I checked the pedal bracket when I adjusted the clutch. I've also looked at the fork to make sure it wasn't cracked. I thought if any of these things would cause my problem then they should still cause it to do so when it was warmed up also? But keep em coming guys. I hoping to hear one that I didn't think of! That's pretty much the reason I post.

The shiny silver part that attaches to pedal arm and clutch rod will appear ok until pedal is depressed and then it folds over. Check there also.47162A11-FB3F-45E0-9565-298B3252F351.jpg

Thanks. I see what your talking about and I looked at it as I pushed down the pedal with my hand.

Does anyone know if the Marlin crawler shifter seat and bushings will eventually wear out and need to be replaced again?
I put one in likely around 8 years ago (shifter seat and bushing). Recently first gear has been tricky to get into. I was wondering if replacing it again would do anything. I might open it up this weekend and see what it looks like since it is easy to access.

    Symptons:
If I'm coming to a stop slowly I can easily clutch and go into first. As soon as I release the clutch and then push it back in to go into first that's where it gets difficult.
At a stop I can shift into second smoothly and then without releasing the clutch it easily goes straight up into first. If I go into second, then neutral, release the clutch and then clutch in to go to first it is tough.

Does anyone know if this is synchros, fluid, or bushing related?

Hey man. I'm having the same issue . Mine will go into first gear just fine if it isn't running. I'm hoping its not the syncros. But one guy told me about the pilot bearing sticking and causing this. I had my clutch replaced two years ago and he might not have replaced the pilot bearing. I'm fixing to pull my tranny and take a look at it when the weather isn't too bad. Hopefully in the next couple weeks. That's if you have checked everything else like cracked shift fork and clutch pedal bracket. All mine were in good shape, so I'm hopeful that it's that pilot bearing. When I do, I'll let you know. Cause I can do anything to these trucks other than tear down the tranny, I don't have all the presses or pullers to do that. So I'm hopeful it's the bearing, cause I've checked and rechecked everything else. I'll keep ya posted, please do the same for me.

What he said about the pilot bearing being worn out and not letting the flywheel and shaft spin independently makes sense. So I'm hoping it's that and not synchro's.I too have used the marlin crawler bushing, and it would take alot for it to ware out. It's made from different material than stock and is made to be the last one you need.

Ive been battling the same issues about getting into first at a stop, seems once it warms up its a little better but not good. New master and slave, few years old on the LCE clutch/TOB/PB and shifter bushings. Super annoying, just hoping it isnt the synchros too.

I hear ya man, I'm going to pull mine sometime soon and check the pilot bearing and see if it's froze up or hard. Mine clutch kit is from marlin crawler and it's only two years old. But I didn't put it in and the guy I had put it in , had his son in law do it. So I don't know if that boy changed it out? If he had trouble getting the old one out, he probably left the old one in. I'll definitely post what I find when I end up doing it. Just have alot going on right now and it's cold as hell. I'm working on a girl's 4runner today. It's got the 3.4. She said she was going down the hwy and it just stopped and smoke came out from under the hood. I looked at it this afternoon. First of all ,it had antifreeze everywhere. Then I noticed oil everywhere. Even back up the air filter. When you crank it it will barely spin. So I changed out the starter thinking she burned it up trying to start it. But it does the same thing. It sounds bogged down. I thought it was hyro-locked, but i can turn the crank by hand and it felt normal. But i can tell isnt not building pressure , and will finally barely fire . So its like a valve is stuck open. Or several valves. I bet it has a hole in the top of the piston. Im going to do a compression check on it tomorrow and that will probably tell me what i already know. I bet she burned that thing up. Dam women, wont stop and look at anything. Or pay attention to anything.
