Interesting... are you tuned NORMAL or SPORT? Or did you try both and experience this with both? As I myself am on the verge of getting my truck tuned, I'd like to hear more about this if anyone can speak to it. Thx.

So with several experiencing this, could you address ITT. I’m supposed to be getting tuned in early February so trying to follow along with any issues etc people are having given the newness of this version. Just curious if these need reflashed etc. or what could be going on.

Just make sure you do a good test drive. You can try all the throttle choices if you want. See which one is best for you.
I would suggest that everyone do a good test drive and get on the highway to check the speeds that you travel. That way you will not have to come back on another day to get a re flash.

We have not had many problems. But a simple re flash fixed it. So all I can think that is happening is that the original flash did not get completed.
It is weird, and I have not seen it. So, doing a good test drive will let you know.

You referencing the sense of “dead pedal” at those speeds? I still experience having to keep pushing and pushing the throttle then finally it goes to 4th and takes off. It’s something I’ve learned to deal with for the most part or press ECT when I know it’ll happen. Hopefully if I regear it will help that.

Perhaps a re-flash might fix that problem. The Pro tune, normal throttle, doesn’t exhibit that behaviour on mine and if it did I’d want to talk to Kreg about it before re-gearing.

I just had my truck tuned by Mike from Reno, couldn't be more happy. Runs the way I would expect it to run off the lot. Thanks to everyone that have had a hand in making this tune.

Through two tanks of gas on the Pro Tune and I don’t have a “dead peddle “ feeling. Very happy overall with it and can feel the improvement over the 6.0

Met up with PapaRee for the tune and wow! What a difference it makes the truck drive! Luckily he is local to me, so he answered a lot of questions for me. And If anything happens, he’s there to help!

Got KDMAX 6.0 Max in Phoenix last year. Is there a substantial difference with the new version?

You will feel the improvements to the added low end torque, Linear smoother throttle response, smoother shifting and octane learning on the fly.
You can read back on some of the reviews and feedback from previous KDMAX 6.0 tuned customers.

    - More usable and noticeable low end torque
    - Improved gas mileage. Best MPGs so far! (As always, NOT Guaranteed.)
    - Octane learning from 85-95 octane--no more Regular and Premium versions.
    - Improved/smoother shifting.
    - Works with CAI's, Custom Exhausts, and Dumptubes with no weird affects.
    - 4Lo tested- smooth and strong at low speeds.
    - More user friendly throttle settings/names and just three choices:

    Auto Transmission
    1. Sport throttle- Aggressive, linear (much like our Regular/aggressive now but optimized for less jerky low speed)
    2. Normal throttle- Used for Daily Driving but aggressive and linear (much like the old SLT but optimized and linear)
    3. Lite throttle- Like the Stock/WifeTip throttle but optimized to be linear and smooth

    Manual Transmission
    1. Sport Throttle- most aggressive and responsive.
    2. Normal Throttle- more than stock but easier for Daily Driving.
    3. Lite Throttle- more than stock but 5% less than Normal.

I noticed some improvements, not as dramatic as stock to 6.0, but I still feel it was well worth it.

That "dead" pedal happens in 5th after you slow down and decided to accelerate. I was able to test it last night.
As I mentioned before, KDMAX will stay in 5th till the end.
I suppose KDMAX can adjust downshift point and opt torque tables, but may bring gear hunting issue back for some.
Easy solution is to throw the stick to the left and you are in the "turbo" mode. Tested last night against Tundra.
6 to 5 downshift works perfectly.
I heard the patch is coming soon to finally apply reworked shifting logic.

Are you referring to a Toyota Corporate patch?
