Cool, I didn’t know they were making or have already made rubber covers.
Do we just email them about getting some? Thanks

They're not. They're a modified cover used by the Retrax tonneau. You can fill out a warranty claim here: https://www.na.rsismartcap.com/warranty

My locks froze in big bear but while annoying, just pouring water i was able to get them unlatched before it froze again. Anyone have a fix??

Also would love to see a heater option for the smartcap

I finished the swap with another TW member and it went about as smooth as could be expected. Cool to have the window on passenger side for the dogs from the sport, and the solid panel on my driver side protecting the cubby.

Anyone have any updates on a new style latch and how to go about getting mine replaced. I’ve about had it with this stupid thing. These latches make it almost unusable in the northern climate. Note of caution do not buy this thing if you live anywhere with snow or freezing temps. It’s a giant headache and waste of money in my opinion if they don’t fix these latches. I bought a Milwaukee heat gun as a temporary fix. If they don’t come up with something I’m going to sell the thing. Another terrible feature was the rooftop vent. Leaked like a sieve so I plugged it with butyl tape. I shoulda know better something built in South Africa isn’t going to handle northern winters very well. Looks great but is functionally worthless.

Anyone have issues installing their front runner load bars?
I got mine all the way on finally and then I was in the process of tightening the nuts to the bolt on the silver piece that slides into the rails and the bolt somehow came loose prevented me from completely tightening. I’m very frustrated. Hopefully I’m describing this correctly. But what a piece of shit. I didn’t even tighten it down all the way yet and it stripped out. I just can’t believe it

hey did you have to disassemble the cap and swap out the whole panel that holds the window? Or you can just swap the actual door area? I was in talks with someone to swap

Good to hear! Thought having the Molle panel would be good for some storage solutions too.

I’ve been using the rubber covers for 3 weeks now through several days with varying degrees of snow/ice. Flawless.

For those curious, I reached out to RSI for an update on the new latches. Below was their response.

"I unfortunately dont have a solid ETA or the cost for these as yet. I have your details on my list and will reach out to you as soon as I receive further info. As it stands within the first quarter of this year we will receive a batch of locks."

Was finally able to find the right bolt to mount my Rhino Rack bars to the SmartCap. Happy with the way it all turned out. (Also a bit annoying how SmartCap goes out of their way to make you use their crossbars and load system)

I have a smart cap evo-a and wanted to see if anyone in vegas or surrounding cities want to swap a door From the evo sport with me. We’d have the best of both worlds. Lmk!

I was able to do this and couldn't be happier. Dont forget to swap locks as well! The guy I traded with hit me up once he realized that they didnt match so now we are meeting up for round two. The number is printed clear as day on the inside of the lock for reference (small chance that whomever you swap with has the same lock/key).

So I had been talking with Lionel for awhile now… back when I posted about the lock manufactures status on covers (which he was unaware of) and a missing 3rd brake light screw cap.

he hit me back last week informing me of these covers he had been made aware of (the same covers from here) and gave me the tracking for the set of 6 he had sent out to me. I was/still am going to get the furnlock covers when available but thought that was nice, out of the blue.

It really is just a small sliver that needs to be removed. I sprayed the lock with a 3n1 to address the pin starting to oxidize/rust and wiped it dry. Will prep the rest of the covers and hopefully get done tomorrow before the rain. This will work for the time being

Are y’all getting the covers under warranty from the dealer or direct through RSI? I opened a ticket with them for the new locks but I think the covers may work fine for me.
